Hi everyone,

I was wondering if those of you who have the information would be willing to share how much it cost to get married in a local Catholic Church, namely for an out of town couple.

I was looking at Corpus Christi in Celebration, Holy Cross in Orlando, Holy Family on Apopka Vineland, or Holy Redeemer in Kissimee. I looked a Queen of the Universe, but it doesn't look like they do weddings. ? At least I didn't see anything about marriage on the website.

I thought about doing a church wedding and then a reception on Disney property. I had heard of the possibility of if you do a DFTW, they can provide transportation to and from the church. But that wedding was specifically at Corpus Christi which is technically on Disney property. So I don't know if that made the difference.

Thanks to anyone who knows the costs and will share! :grouphug:

I don't know the full answer but as far as transportation - for buses and vans, Disney uses Mears - so if DFTW said no transport from one of those churches, you could work with Mears directly. With Mears we found the cost was the same whether we booked through DFTW or on our own.

I'm not in Orlando, but the church I briefly looked at where I live (south Florida) was about $800 I believe for non-members, meaning you don't regulary attend the church. It may have even been a little more for non-members but $800 sticks out. I'd imagine most catholic churches are similarly priced.

Celebration is no longer Disney property, but Disney can arrange for transportation to go off-property to any church for you. :thumbsup2 I have a podcast interview with a bride who got married at Kissimmee’s Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and had a Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding reception HERE.

Thanks. Haha actually the church I probably would go to here where I live would be like $300. Urg

So I was searching around and came across a .pdf of the cost at Corpus Christi. It's $2000 PLUS $800 for the total stipends of the various people involved plus $25 an altar server!!!!

It's a beautiful church but wow. Compared to my local church here, that is outrageous. And of course that doesn't include Pre-cana.

I still wasn't able to find a cost for Holy Redeemer or Holy Family, but all say you have to be a member of the parish, and they say for at least a year which poses a problem obviously.

Carrie, I did listen to the podcast again (listened to it about a year ago), but the bride wasn't very specific on why other churches were turning her away (and which ones she contacted) and why Holy Redeemer accepted her, and she didn't get into the costs.

I would think with Orlando being such a tourist attraction that churches would be a little more lenient with marrying couples from out of town as long as they are Catholic, but I guess not. :sad1:

As a church musician in a Catholic Church , I can tell you the extra fees are actually in line with what my local church charges (and what I get paid). With that said - ouch to $2000. I think that is a little steep.

Wow, haha, my church must be really cheap! I think it's $300 for the church and $300 for the cantor/pianist. $10 for each altar server (although I'd probably give more). And I haven't heard of a charge for the priest there.
