Chubby Thighs and PROUD!

Ok. This is pretty embarassing to admit...

I'm a big girl. I've got thick, chubby thighs. Last time we went on vacation, I had bought a couple of pairs of capris, the material was pretty thin. After a day or two of walking, my capris, at the inner thigh would tear! It was so embarassing!

I bought my Body Glide for $9.99 at Dick's today. I found the Monistat chafing gel for $6.37 at Wal-Mart. I'm going to try out the Body Glide tomorrow with my shorts and see how I like it. There's almost nothing worse than the pain of chafed thighs :scared:

Try using your underarm deoderant/antiperspirant on your thighs...that works just as well. I use "Sure" Stick Brand and it works great...just apply it to the area that chaffes and reapply after swimming etc. :cool1:

Body Glide is in sporting goods or sporting goods store. I got mine at Dick's.
If you cannot find body glide at a store in your area you can order it online at www.bodyglide.com.
My daughter wore skirts the week we were at WDW. The first day she ended up with what we call the "chub rub" from her inner thighs rubbing together. When we got back to the hotel she applied some body glide and was fine the rest of the week. If you intend to wear skirts though, I would suggest applying it before you get the "chub rub" . This stuff works great!!!

I actually picked up a couple of pairs of men's boxers/sleep shorts that are long enough to cover up the problem area and light enough so I don't pass out.

I just bought a pair of Calvin Klein boxers today that were on clearance. I'm hoping these will work, and they won't be too hot. Glad to see someone else has done this!

Thanks to whomever posted the price of the Monistat Gel in Wal-mart. Since that's cheaper, I may try that if the boxers don't work. :thumbsup2

Ya know, I've tried the stuff from Monastat and it works realy well! I also have used just plane old Anti perspirant in a clear stick and it works well too.
when we were at Disneyland in June I kept a tube of one and a stick of the other in my fanny pack...no sore thighs!

I used Gold Bond powder in June, and that worked, but I think I'm going to try the antipersperant thing for my workout this afternoon. I'm going back in November, and I'm working out like a demon to try and get the thighs smaller before I go. It's hard to walk/jog on the treadmill to get rid of the thighs when they keep rubbing together! You know, you'd think the friction alone would reduce them....

Just so you know, it's not just chubby thigh girls who have this problem.

I'm a size 4-6 and my thighs rub after a few hours. Boy is it SORE! So I'm noting down your tips and if we go (I'm quite scared of the latest terrorist threats flying UK to USA) :( :( :( I'll use some of your tips!

Ah, thanks to everyone who has posted...I thought I was the only one who has this problem! It's a deep dark secret that most people don't talk about...glad to know I'm not the only one who suffers from thigh chaffing at Disney! Yes, we should start a chubbythighs club!

Happens to every pair of jeans I buy! Don't worry, you're not alone!

Add me to the chubby thigh club! I use BodyGlide (thanks to fellow DISers)and it works like a charm! So far i've used it at Great America (while wearing my bathing suit at the waterpark, which has swim trunk bottoms) and at Ren Faire while wearing a long skirt... I don't wear shorts because my right leg is very tattooed and I don't like people staring... :sad2:

I bought the long, red hawaiian wrap skirt for from the DIsney Store for our next trip and will use the Body Glide then, too!

But enough about this chafing business. :teeth:

Can we switch to sharing tips for dealing with the whole "sweating under your breasts" thing? :rotfl:

Powder! I use it every day at the world (and sometimes even here at home in grossly humid CT) and it works much better than I thought it would!

:wave2: Girl with inner thigh chafing problem chiming in!!

I also use Bodyglide and also Blistershield for my legs (chafing) and my feet (blisters) and they work great!

I mix and match but for the most part in the morning I use the Blistershield between my legs and the Bodyglide on my feet. Then I carry the Bodyglide in my fannypack and YES, I do re-apply while in the parks about mid-day, especially when I go in August and I'm sweating a lot.

Its easy to carry around so why not?

I use Blistershield on my legs because its more slippery and Bodyglide on my feet because its more like a roll on stick; less slippery, but like I said, I mix and match and they both work GREAT!

Another GREAT tip is to wear biker short underwear under your dress/skirt/shorts instead of regular underwear. They work GREAT!

These are what I wear under my shorts:

I'm glad to hear the BodyGlide works! My DH has always used baby powder, but it makes such a mess and it doesn't last. This year he asked me to order the BodyGlide.

Here is my funny story though...

When we got the BodyGlide in the mail (in a bubble mailer), one stick was smashed and the other stick had a broken cap. I called the co I ordered from. They said they would wrap it in bubble wrap and mail it in a bubble mailer and hopefully they would arrive in good condition. If it didn't, they would send 2 more in a box.

Since from our original 2 we can get 1 good stick, we have the potential to have TONS of this stuff!

I want to be a member of the chubby thighs club!! It's time to be proud, not embarassed.
I was going to try just using anti perspirant but I'm going to go find Bodyglide right away as we leave in less than a week!
I dislike the messiness of powder and have "sweaty breast syndrome" also. I'm going to try anti perspirant and will bring along a small container of powder.
Chubby thighs and sweaty breasts...how glamorous!!

Not that I'm a full fledged member of the chubby thighs sweaty breasts club :cheer2: ................ok, maybe I am.

Antiperspirant under the breasts helps. And if you don't stop it in time and get the awful rash, that's a yeast thing. Treat it with any OTC yeast infection stuff. Umm...not that I know....

And for the first time ever, I'm hoping the tag fairy doesn't see me.

add me to the club. I have used the monistat product for the inner thigh problem and it worked like a charm! Even in the humidity down in Disney world in June.

Thanks for the biker short Idea to!

Another member chiming in here!

I use BodyGlide when I work out and it is fave among the runners & walkers in my training group. Some people here have mentioned antiperspirant, but for me, for some reason, it causes my skin to break out. Weird huh?

BodyGlide doesn't evaporate so that is why I stick (lol) with it!

beattyfamily-are those from an online store? They look like they'd be thinner than some regular bike shorts and would be great under dresses, a layer without a lot of bulk!
