Chrystal Palace vs 1900 PF

We are trying to decide between CP & 1900 PF for dinner. We are not too worried about what characters we will see. We are more concerned with the food, which is your favorite?

For me it was 1900 Park Fare.

The food is pretty much comparable at both. Typical Buffet food. Its more of a question were you'd like to eat.

Do you want to eat in the park, or take the monorail or boat ride over to Grand FLoridian. Its a nice break from the park, but do you want a break from the park.

I'd prefer Crystal Palace, because if Im leaving the park, I'm going to the Grand FLoridan Cafe or Kona at the poly.

We have gone to 1900 Park Fare for dinner (characters good but food BAD). We have gone to Crystal Palace for lunch and love it and its a must every trip...good selection even my son loves the salad bar.

We enjoy the food better at CP. Lots of variety and it's well prepared, and the salad bar is great.

1900 Park Fare is good, but we don't eat there often. On this last trip we had lots of "repeat" dishes at dinner, like a couple of different pasta entrees on different sections of the buffet, and chicken dark meat prepared both as "marsala" and "coq au vin" at different stations, basically the same dish, same mushrooms, different sauce.

We thought Park Fare was just a notch above OK, but we love the variety and food at CP. The salmon there is great, so is the Mediteranean chicken, fire roasted corn spoon bread, and asiago cheese sauce pasta. And lots of cold salad choices, I could make a meal just from those.

Also more room to get around the buffet and easier to get back to your table at CP. The way the buffet is laid out at Park Fare caused some traffic jams, and lots of tables to weave between depending on where you are sitting. CP also has lots of tables too, and I think it's bigger than Park Fare, but we find navagating there to be easier.

I agree! But if I were to eat out of MK, I'd go to the Kona.

We have done dinner at both the Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare. The food was much better at Crystal Palace but, even though I know that you said that the characters didn't matter, Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters were worth the price of admission (of course, Cinderella and Prince Charming were there also). Given the choice, I would definitely choose 1900 Park Fare as a more memorable dining experience.

I think the food at both is comparable. I would pick based on location, and would not leave MK to go to 1900 Park Fare.

DH and I both preferred the food at Crystal Palace. We did love the characters at 1900 Park Fare though. We are pick eaters and the Crystal Palace food was a little more "plain" but VERY good. I think DH at his body weight in the Salmon there.

We have never been to 1900, but Crystal Palace is a MUST every trip. We usually go for lunch. I love the food, especially when they have the salmon with jasmine rice. It's a great break in the day. Two thumbs up!

I really like both. I probably prefer Crystal Palace though. I am a huge Eeyore fan, so that does play into it, I'll admit!

I'd choose Crystal Palace. We've eaten at both this year, and PF was just not that great. The food was okay, but the service was bad, took forever to get seated, and not all the characters came to our table (and we were there for awhile). We had our glasses refilled maybe twice the whole time, too. The waitress at first forgot to even ask one of us if we'd like anything to drink! (Obviously most of this is the waitress' fault.) They seem to have a few more tables than they should for the area, as it was sometimes difficult to maneuver around the tables and the people and the kids. The food on the buffet didn't look too fresh and with the exception of the strawberry soup, we'd seen it all at CP and Chef Mickey's.

We wanted to skip the picture so we could eat since my mother is diabetic and we didn't know it'd be so long of a wait since we hadn't encountered such a wait before - even at Chef Mickey's. (We were 15 minutes early for our reservation, but it took us over an hour to check in and get in line for the picture.) She takes her medicine in the morning and needs to eat right after. I explained this to them and was told that we had to have the picture taken before we could be seated because that was how things were done. Luckily my mom was fine since we bring crackers along, but it was a bit nutty.

At CP, all the characters made it to our table, it was easy to get around, no problems with refills, and the food all looked fresh and was yummy. We're eating here again for our December trip.
