you've seen the ads for the Town and Country and the 300M-

both show a cool vehicle with all these features- then end with a big screen "starting at" $20 thousand something hundred.

But , in the lower left, is the "as shown" $33 or $35 thousand!!!!

$15 THOUSAND more to get as shown? why bother "starting" the price at $20k?????? Thats almost the price of another small car to get the options!!!! I mean, say something like "starting at $29k, as shown $35k. "

Is this deceptive?

I bet you would have a really hard time finding one for 20k on the lots also. I know technically it's not false advertising, but it still makes me angry. Do they really expect people to read that tiny print on the bottom of the screen thats there for like two seconds?

We have a dealer in the area who has a lot for nearly every manufacturer. The radio ad always advertise this terrific price - BUT - you have to qualify for ALL of the incentives to get that price. Rebates include a military discount, college grad discount, etc. You would have to qualify for all of them to get the "advertised" price. Of course the ad is followed by the fast-talking announcer with the disclaimers of how they get to that price - how the advertisers get away with stating the low low prices. I think it's wrong, and the Chrysler ads the OP mentioned are the same. Only automobile manufacturers advertise this way. Why?

That's not deceptive, it's advertising....a fine line, I agree...(DH is in the business.);)

Loves Dale Earnhardt Jr. and everything Disney!

hey! My wife's hairdresser used to date Dale!
We get the inside info on country music stars and such.

Kinda like my P.T. Cruiser that "Started" at 14 K LOL
23K later  I drove it off the lot after waiting 2 years to get it .
