Chronicles of the DDP Eaters w/ pics updated 10/13/08 Cantina de San Angel & Kringla

We went to 50's Prime Time Cafe for dinner on 9/30/08. I have eaten there many times and I think they have wonderful food and it is so cute in there.

We checked in and were seated within 5 min so we didn't have to wait long (thankfully, because the waiting room was plum full). Our waitress came and she was really nice. She pretended to be our mom as part of the antics. We ordered our drinks and looked the menu over. My mom, uncle and I ordered vanilla malts as our drinks and my aunt and brother ordered pop. My uncle and I went with the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. It normally comes with greens but I don't know what they are so we asked if we could substitute for corn and they did so with no problems. My mom ordered the steak with roasted potatoes and veggies. My aunt ordered the meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes. Brandon ordered the pot roast with masshed potatoes. For desserts I ordered the s'mores, brandon and my uncle ordered the brownie sundae, my aunt ordered the chocolate sundae and my mom ordered the apple cobbler.

The cost for 3 uf us (2 malts, pop, pot roast, fried chicken, steak, cobbler, brownie sundae and s'mores) was $88.84. We left an 18% tip of $15 bringing our grand total to $103.84.

On to the food....................

The pot roast minus the carrots and celery becuase Brandon couldn't refrain from removing them before I got the chance to take the picture.

Ok I know this looks like half eaten food but it really isn't. My mom and aunt split the meatloaf and steak. They already split them before I got to take the picture. So one hunk is meatloaf and the other hunk is steak.

The antics:

Brandon couldn't keep his little elbows off the table so this is what happened to him. He was dunced. It reads NO ELBOWS!

Everyone in my family enjoyed this restaurant. It is themed really well even with the old tv show episodes running throughout dinner. The food was excellent as always. My only dislike I had was with my s'mores. The graham cracker was soggy and it was made with chocolate sauce not a real chocolate bar. Other than that no complaints here! Happy eating.

Thanks for taking the time to review. Great pics. What a fun family you have. Looks like you had a great trip. Looking forward to the rest.

After a full morning at Typhoon Lagoon, we were debating on whether to eat lunch in the water park or go to Downtown Disney for lunch. We decided to eat at the water park and we chose Typhoon Tilly's.

What a poor choice that was. I ordered the chicken nuggets with fries, Brandon ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries and my mom ordered the chicken wrap with fries.

For desserts (whoops, I forgot to get pictures) I ordered a chocolate chip cookie, Brandon ordered a itzakadoozie and my mom ordered a mickey ice cream bar. Our desserts by for were the best food item at this CS restaurant.

I tried a little bit of everyones lunches. The chicken nuggets were hard and tasted like they had been sitting there all day. The pulled pork tasted like it was canned meat. The chicken wrap was ok but it was a bit dry and it was missing some ingredients from the last time I had it. There weren't any tomatoes and stuff.

Brandon liked his sandwich ok. My mom thought the same thing I did about her chicken wrap. It was just ok and it was missing something. The fries were fries nothing spectacular.

On to the yucky food.

Cantina de San Angel

We had dinner at Cantina de San Angel on 10/1/08. This was by far my favorite counter service ever. It even beats out Wolfgnag Puck Express in my opinion.

I ordered the cantina nachos, my mom, uncle and aunt ordered the plato combinacion and my brother ordered the tacos al carbon.

The cantina nachos- tortilla chips, refried beans, cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, beef and sour cream.
There was enough for 2-3 people however I managed to eat most of it myself.
:rotfl:

The plato combinacion- chicken taco, beef burrito, cheese quesadilla. It was served with refried beans and salsa.

The tacos al carbon- they come with chicken, peppers and onions. We asked them if we could have chicken lettuce and cheese instead and they were more than accomodating.

For dessert my brother and I ordered churros and my mom, aunt and uncle ordered the bunuelos. I really liked both of the desserts. The bunuelos came prepackaged, but there were 4 good sized cookies in the pack. The churros were awesome!

I had one of these puppies for my drink:

Fiesta margarita

I liked the margarita ok. It was a little strong for my taste. I couldn't imagine having 2 of those, I would have been a little woosey.

On to the food. The pictures aren't the greatest because we ate outside in the pitch black at 8:30 at night.

I forgot to take a picture of Brandon's tacos. I thought I got one, but it was 2 pics of the plato combinacion.

The consensus is that we all really enjoyed this restaurant. All of us ate our plates clean for the most part. I sampled the chicken taco from the plato and that was really good. Like I said earlier, I absolutely loved this CS. I am now counting the days until I can have my cantina nachos again.

Kringla Bakeri og Cafe

I have heard so much about the school bread from kringla that I just had to try it.

This was the best treat of the trip hands down. It had coconut and carmel on top with some buttercreme I believe. I have no idea what was on the inside I think it was a custard but oh my goodness. Can we say yumm!!!!!!!!

I recommend everyone go try this at least once!
