We called member services today to see if we could add on Dec 24 and Dec 25 Christmas to our 26-31 trip and it was available! we are thrilled! staying at VWL in a 2 br, this will be our first trip in our home resort. Does anyone have any ideas of things we shouldnt miss during our holiday time there. I heard that the Grand Floridian and Wilderness lodge have beautiful decorations at that time. Thanks!

OMG jealous over here! I would love to go for Christmas. Maybe next year. Have fun!!!!!

Last year we stayed at the VWL for Christmas and it was amazing. It was like a sensory overload of everything that most of us love about the holiday season. I kept waiting for Norman Rockwell to appear. The lobby of the WL is beautiful but so is the lobby area of the VWL. The whole place is amazing.

We are going back this Christmas but for a non DVC holiday. IT is a great time despite the crowds to be at WDW.

We will be @ SSR from the 19th through the 24th. I have made a lot of "special" ressies during our trip.

Cindy's Gala Feast @ GF (need to check out resort decorations)
Sleigh ride @ WL
Cirque du soleil
Candlelight Processional Package
Most of our PS are a resorts so we can check them out!

Wow!!! Congrats!!! We bought at VWL because we heard those dates were "impossible" to book so late in the game!!! You will have a WONDERFUL Christmas!!!

106 points per night for those 2 nights... a price many are unwilling to pay. Thanks for verifying what many have said - they won't use their points for expensive weekends. I'm burning up 522 points for Dec. 25-Jan 2 at BCV... perhaps we'll get a good room location checking in midday Xmas Day. We're going to spend that evening touring the deluxe resorts (monorail, WL, EPCOT area) to see all the holiday decorations. It should be fun!

rsschneck, i didn't realize there was a sleigh ride at Wilderness lodge, thanks! i will be sure to check it out. I can't wait to see the decorations there, I only wish that Mickeys Christmas party was running at that time. We have never been to Disneyworld in December, I am only guessing but the weather should be in the 60's is that right? i have to figure out what kind of clothes to pack now!

If you want to do the sleigh ride you will need to book it now. It costs $30 and is 30 minutes long. It starts in front of WL. This books up quickly. I believe you call 407-wdw-play to book this ride.
