We are thinking of doing US/ IOA ver Christmas. Thinking of spending about 6 days. We haven't been to US in over 10 years and are really anxious to check out Harry Potter and anything else that we haven't seen along with all the original attractions. Are we crazy to try and do this over Christmas, or are we giving ourselves enough days to hopefully fit it all in. Also, would you recommend staying on property, and what are the perks for doing so. Thanks for your input.

Staying onsite during Holiday Hell Week is imperative...otherwise you won't be able to do much at all. You will get unlimited Express access to all participating attractions as well as early entry into both parks. Express won't help much for the HP attractions except for Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff but early entry will get you in before the general public. That's going to be the only way to see all the new HP attractions during that week.

Am I correct, though, that the only hotel accommodations with "unlimited express" are the "deluxe" ones. The economy one only allows early access. Is this correct? We will be there over Thanksgiving week…trying to plan to go early in the week prior to Thursday.

OK, thank you. May need to re-think this. I don't really want to experience total CRAZINESS..

Yes you are correct.

Unlimited Express comes with staying at any of the 3 deluxe hotels, with Cabana Bay you only get EE.

Yep, Cabana Bay only has early entry. No unlimited express pass. Only the 3, Royal Pacific, Portofino, and the Hard Rock, have the unlimited express pass you get with your hotel key.
