Christmas

A good friend makes and Advent Chain from construction paper. Each link has an activity to do......it does require a lot of planning in advance but she will put on things like

getting our tree
driving around looking at lights
baking cookies
sleeping in front of the fireplace
hot cocco and movie night
going to see a Xmas show
School Band concert
addressing Xmas cards (she addresses them and hte kids get to put Xmas stampers on them and seal them)
reading The Night before Xmas

this is something any family can do, as it could be budget! Each year I say I'm going to do this, but every year December sneaks up on me and I don't. The boys are old enough now at 5 and 4 to really have fun with it, so who knows, this might be the year!

The tradition my mom started when I was a little kid is Christmas pajamas. Every year, I get one present on Christmas Eve, and every year, it's snuggly pajamas. I'm 36 and she still does it :) And now she gets her grandsons PJs for Christmas Eve, too. It's not expensive, and everyone looks super-cute in the Christmas morning pics in their new pajamas :santa:

I do this for my boys. Since Cody was born we go down to DH's Aunt house Xmas eve to see all of his family. The kids get some gifts there and they always get new jammies from Mommy. We change them into their pj's before we leave, they fall asleep on the car ride home and we put them to bed. (and usually are up til 2 i nthe morning wrapping and putting gifts under the tree!)
