Christmas wish

Almost afraid to ask...but, I made the mistake of asking my Dad(he'll be 87 in Jan.) what he wanted for Christmas...you guessed it. He wants our family(9of us) to spend the holiday in DW. We are members(since92 OKW); but I doubt highly there is anything available. Any suggestions? Should we just try to stay on property and pay cash?

We took a 89 year old last year. I will never do Christmas again. So crowed that no one enjoyed themselves.

I would do prior to Christmas and I would start planning now for NEXT year.

Wow, I'm guessing it's too late to do anything about it this year, but you can try!

My DM asked for a WDW trip for her 85th birthday celebration which was in December '04, and we pulled off a great time, but we began planning 11 months out.

I hope you come up with something you'll be happy with.

Why not make plans for next year. You could wrap up a certificate...good for a WDW trip with the family...as this year's present. That will give you lots of time to plan for next year and get exactly what you want, rather than rush around this year and try to pull things together last-minute.

Hence the "may be available for points" comment.

The point is, I found a 2BR and studio at SSR at XMAS week in about a 10 minutes that week. It can be done.

If you can't find anything on site (we were waitlisted for about 8 months with no luck) we were able to secure three nights at the Royal Plaza. Right now there's a special through mousesavers.com....have never stayed there, but the price isn't bad. Might work for you if you can't find a DVC resort. I know we didn't have any luck. I didn't want to keep waiting and waiting, so I booked elsewhere. I'll save the points for another trip

I would certainly try. We are staying at BW the 24th-30th and we were just able to add the 23rd. I called two days ago and it was available. I think things are opening up and I would certainly call first thing in the morning on Friday. You may be surprised.
