I tried search before starting a new topic but it must be down.

We are spending Christmas week at OKW. I am looking for some fun and unusual ideas for decorating or making the holiday special while away from home.

Do people have small trees? Lights on the balcony or patio area? Ideas for Christmas morning with children?

What have you seen or done that is worth sharing?

Thank you.

Anytime we are at OKW in December, we usually bring lights and decorate the balcony. There is an outlet right between the door to the living room and the door to the master. On this board, there is also a bunch of Christmas tree sign ups. These trees make the rounds, so you might want to look for that post and get your name on the list for one of the trees.

You are going to have such a great time, Vanessa! :thumbsup2

In the one and two bedroom, there is an outlet on the porch at OKW. You'll just need lights, tape (or whatever to make it stick in place - just don't take off the paint) and a short extension cord. We bring a wreath hanger, hang our three part Mickey wreath (two smaller wreaths attached to a larger wreath) on the front door. We have a 3-4' pre-lit tree that we bring alone with our Disney ornaments. We have our Mickey stocking hangers and hang the stockings either on the bar or the TV island.

We will also be there xmas week! We have put up lights around the windows before and usually bring a small tree (we drive from Boston). In 1996 (the only time we have been there for xmas morning-although we have been 5 times during that week) we got a surprise from "Santa" on our door on xmas morning (our DS was 6), a mesh stocking filled with mickey lollipops. We checked in on xmas day last year so don't know if any resort surprises still occur. We are checking in 12/24 this year..so maybe......

Will be there for check in the 24th also Have the lights in a rolling duffle along with a very strange tree that collapses and then you just pull it up onto its stand for a 6 foot tree. It looks good from a distance with all its little lights and we wrap the balcony rails with lots of lights. We usually allow some time for checking out the other resorts also, We have gotten to the point where we do not do a lot of gift exchanging so don't really have any ideas for that. One year getting that silly tree up before my DGD arrived was for her the best gift as she thought we weren't having one - She was a teenager at the time so being able to surprise her was my gift to myself. The previous time we had done Christmas we had only put a couple of ornaments on the silk plant in the corner of the dining area, I am trying to think of something to add for this year -maybe a wreath will find its way into the bag.

Thank you all for the input and ideas. Pass the Christmas tree? what a fabulous idea, who would have thought!

We can't wait..see you there!
