I am thinking about going to BW for Christmas vacation, but I think I remember that you can't just call for ressies at that time. What is the procedure? Isn't there a waitlist or something, even if you are calling for ressies during your 11 month window? Can someone please bring me up to speed on this, as I have never attempted to go on vacation at Christmas before. I am usually a spring-summer hot weather vacationer. Thanks!

We have stayed at a DVC site during the past two Christmas seasons. We made resees in spring time. In both cases, we got partials and had to get on waiting lists for certain days. Last year, one of the waiting list days didn't materialize so we ended up paying cash for the room.
The is a seasonal waiting list that you can call MS about. They are probably taking requests for 2002. But.... in our case we have had decent luck just calling in 9 or 10 months in advance. If you are interested in this Christmas, I'd give them a call on Monday.
Finally, Christmas at WDW is spectacular. The added holiday spirit and events makes a visit even more spectacular. Happy holidays.

I don't know about the availability of BWV but I just made ressies at OKW a few days ago. I just closed on a resale late last week, they got the info in at MS on Tuesday and I made ressies for Dec 27 - Jan 2 that same day with no problems.

Good luck. Hope to see you there.

Wait list worked for us even for the famous Millenium week. I would plan better next time and try 11 months out and be sure, It is hard to make family committments when you are not sure what your own family is doing!

You definitely need to make ressies at 11 mos out or get on the SSPL for 2002. We closed on resale 20 feb and were not able to get 12/30 or 12/31. Still on wait list but since we have a lot of time, anything can happen!

Thanks, everyone, for your help! My husband was sure that Christmas was impossible for us when I originally came up with the idea on Saturday morning. Your answers helped me to convince him that my idea is doable. Thanks again, and let's hope for nice weather when Christmas rolls around!
