We woke at 8am thanks to a call from Goofy – anyone who hasn’t used the morning call service yet, do so on your next visit. We did our packing and we were shocked we didn’t need to buy an extra bag to fit all our acquisitions in – we have expander cases and the extra space from expanding them was enough – pretty shocking considering the Phantom Manor globe came in a huge box and sat pride of place in the middle of my case. I took a few photos of where we were staying, as is customary for our last day and then we dropped our cases off with the luggage desk – we’d see them again at the station – thanks Disney Express.

It was when we walked outside with our cases that the temperature drop registered with us and we realised that the cold weather from the previous night was just the start – it was now pretty damn cold. Anyway, off we went for our last breakfast and we went in 20 minutes before our 10am slot to be greeted by a jam packed Chuck Wagon Café – after 2 days of low crowds we had a feeling the parks were going to be very busy today.

After breakfast we walked to the park and as we were about to enter Disneyland Park I got the tickets out of my wallet and noticed the room key card in my wallet too – damn, forgot to hand that in :badpc: So, bus there and then bus back and now we are ready, but what’s that on my hat? A bird has pooped on it – further investigation showed the same bird had pooped down my jacket and jumper! The jacket went straight into the bin – the poop had dried into the fur at this point – there’s no way I’d ever want to wear it again! So, into Team Mickey and we bought a brown hoodie that I’d previously said I didn’t want and Denise had always liked – she was right – it’s great! Outside the shop and I do my Superman impression – sort of! Off with the pooped on jumper (thank goodness for the thermal vest – maybe a fashion faux pas but it kept my warm during the change!) and on with my new hoodie – the jumper joined the jacket in the bin and off to the park we went, a quest to buy me a new jacket!

After an hour of ‘fun’ we finally entered the park and after browsing a few shops we bought a jacket in Main Street Motors – a nice black waterproof ‘limited edition’ one. Now it’s time to enjoy the park on our last day, but it’s so very cold and the crowds are immense! We headed off to Frontierland and managed to get into the Chaparral Theatre seconds before they close the doors. Mickey’s Winter Wonderland was very good and they’ve changed it a bit since our last visit in 2003 – pretty cold in there though!

The cold seemed to make us hungry so we headed off to our favourite lunching joint – Casey’s Corner. Hotdogs in hand we found a bench in the Discovery Arcade and while not ideal it was a lot warmer so we were happy. After lunch I decided the hat was bugging me, having been pooped on so that bit the dust too and I bought a new hat and gloves in Emporium. I also bought Denise some shortbread, as she loves it, especially when it’s got Mickey Mouse on it!

We warmed up after lunch with a trip to Pirates of the Caribbean, which had the longest queue we have ever seen – but it’s POTC so we just had to go on it, again! Though I’ve got a zillion photos inside POTC I had to take a few en route to the ride, partly for something to do and also because I was getting jealous of other people taking photos! After our last POTC ride of the holiday we took a ride on the Disneyland Railroad and stayed on for a whole circuit plus one stop – while on the train the heavens opened and it poured down. So, cold, crowded and now wet – we love Disneyland Resort Paris but at this point we thought enough was enough and we just wanted to get home. We’d had a fab few days but it just wasn’t fun any more. We kept dry for a bit more in the queuing area and inside Honey I Shrunk The Audience – I still love that attraction – the bullet got me this time – it’s always something, usually the snake.

It was getting time for the Christmas Parade so we decided this was a good time to head out of the park and into Disney Village for our last hour – stopping for a chocolate cookie from the Cookie Kitchen of course! In Disney Village we did some last bits of shopping – a Grumpy hoodie for me amongst other things. Then it was off to the station where we retrieved our luggage from Disney Express and joined the queue of people. We were soon through the various checkpoints and actually on the train an hour before departure time. One problem – we were in the ‘carriage from hell’ – kids playing harmonicas, parents arguing and a particularly annoying couple that had been there done that and bragged about it all very loudly – only problem is a few areas they spoke of I knew about and straight away realised they were talking nonsense – oh well, only 3 hours till Ashford!

Journey, though noisy, was uneventful and we got back to our car in no time and were on the road by 8.15pm. In no time we hit a snow blizzard and thought we may have to find a hotel but we drove through and 30 minutes later it was gone and didn’t reappear for the whole journey home. It was about an hour from home that my stomach started feeling bad and that’s what started a few days in bed with a stomach bug, or something!

OVERALL
Despite the end of the last day we had a really great time and spending Christmas in Disneyland Resort Paris was awesome. It was great meeting Dee, Dave, Josh and Ben and we had lots of fun spending time with them all. 2006 will see us moving back up to the Herts area thanks to my job and we also want to start a family so we are not sure when our next trip to DLRP will be – we both really want to see Halloweenland so who knows…..

What a shame that your journey took such a "pooy" end. But you took it very disneylike. And just think the limited jacket will hopefully great to wear for a long time and you wouldn´t have bought it without the "help" of this bird.
But thank you for your great Trip report and the lovely photos.

Sounds like overall you had a good time. Being pooped on is meant to be lucky of course!

2006 looks like being a year of big changes for you both - good luck, I hope everything goes as you would wish it too.

As always I really enjoyed your trippie Steve - you obviously had a great holiday and made the most of your time!!! Thanks for all the deatils and great pictures!!
I hope everything goes well with your house move and that this time next year there'll be a mini-Steve or mini-Denise (or at least on the way!!!) :Pinkbounc
