Christmas Trip vs less DVC financing?

Dfi and I got engaged in Disney in May, made a quick 3 day trip there in August and just received a PIN to go in December 19-24. I booked the trip immediately. our Disneymoon is in May and we'd like to buy into DVC BLT at that time. Should I cancel the trip and save the money to use towards DVC or keep both and fiance an extra 1400 through DVC purchase?

I can't decide.... I know that this would get me off the hook for a Christmas present and him off the hook for one for me

Honestly, I'd skip the Dec. trip and use the money toward DVC. You were just there in May and will be back next May. You'll have plenty of years to visit at holiday-time with your DVC membership so I'd skip this year and plan something for next year instead.

This may impact your decision. Have you been Christmas time before? Though there are many Christmas things to see that you cannot other times of year and thus it can be worth the trip, understand that going Dec 19 to 24 means you will see daily crowds about 3 times the size of the worst crowd day you saw in May or August.

I think I will hold off and plan a trip during hte holiday season of next year with my new DVC points. Wonder if Contemporary will be open in early Dec? That way I can avoid crowds and be in heaven.
