We just got ours! Bit late in the day, just one week to go until Christmas! How do you decorate yours? We're fairly simple, white lights, baubles, an adorning star :)

Mostly ornaments from 30 years ago when we got married, along with lots of ornaments telling stories over the years like “Baby’s First Christmas”, “I Love Grandpa”, etc. Also random stuff like 3 Simpsons characters, and a Dalek ornament as I am a Doctor Who fan.

We have lights and ornaments from our travels over the years. We also try and get a new ornament that represents our year in some way. We put ours up about a week and a half ago.

Living room tree - all of the sentimental ornaments from over the years.

Formal dining room - rustic/country Christmas vibe

Kitchen- food theme… lots of gingerbread men, s’mores, peppermint candies, etc…

Sunroom - Disney

We just picked up a tree and put it up yesterday, first time in many years we got a live tree. Glad we did!
This year we went w/ the old school large multi color bulbs.
Last year I separated the kid’s ornaments (except for one or two I kept) and gave them to the kids. Our tree has ornaments from our travels, ones we pick up here & there. No star or angel on top, rather I put a spray of flowers/poinsettia (did I spell that right?) .

This year, we're just lights and ornaments. Normally I do garland and/or tinsel, but I just wasn't in the mood. I love lights and each tree is a bit different. Our mini tree on the bar just has mini multi-colored lights. The tree near the fireplace is traditional mini white lights. This tree was also supposed to have bubble lights but I am so tired of paying for replacements for the burned out lights. Each darn string is $20-30, the 3-piece replacement packs are usually $10-15, and each year, at least 4-5 need replacing. The Disney/retro tree has a mix of faceted globe multi-color LED lights and a string of large Mickey head animated color lights that go through a series of color shifting and flashing. The fresh tree in the living room is a blend of medium sized faceted pointy end tear drop lights in red/white/green and a couple of strings of red LEDs to mimic holly berries.
