We stayed at the contemporary concierge last christmas, although i wanted one of the disney florist trees i just couldnt justify it.I ended up buying the princess tree at target for 24.95 i also bought the mickey and minnie cookie and milk set from the disney store i made a mickey head wreath for our door and the large window gel clings for the balcony doors.I am glad i didnt spend the big bucks on the tree because everything was wonderful the way we did it.

A few years back, we splurged and bought the Disney $$$ tree - it was cute, but we felt not worth the big bucks.

Each year since then, we order a lovely tree from smith and hawken.com, it comes pre-lit with lights, and we bring along some candy canes and things for the kids to decorate with. As we tour the parks, we let the kids each pick a few ornaments to add to the tree - and that has become a fun part of the trip. The kids actually like decorating it themselves more than having the pre-made tree.

And costs MUCH less than the Disney tree.

Susy - I adore the idea of DD picking up ornaments during our stay and adding to the tree! Thanks!::yes:: :wave2:

We just draped our lights over the headboards. However I did see many families have their lights around the inside of their windows.

The static clings are great because you can put them on any smooth surface and they don't have any sticky substance because static electricity keeps them in place. Very festive!

We also purchased ornaments for our pre-decorated little live tree throughout our stay. Made feel more at home.

Then because I didn't want to take my family's stockings (My DD was born on Xmas 12 years ago and they gave me her in a stocking...I'd die if it were ever lost), we purchased stockings from the Christmas store at Downtown Disney. I figure I don't mind throwing those in a suit case each year. They squish into tight spots pretty easy and I won't have to worry about them getting lost.

Last year, every on-line florist had little live pre-decorated trees for 1/3 the price of the Disney tree. I really couldn't spend that much money on something we'd only see for the few hours were in the room between sleeping and changing.

A good friend has a 12-year-old daughter who was born on Christmas Eve! I remember that when I went that day to see the baby, she was in a stocking! Oh - that brings back sweet memories!:goodvibes :sunny:
