I know there is a lot of interest in ordering the Christmas trees from the Disney florist. I just checked their website and they have added the tree. Here's a link. They also have a cute Christmas stocking.

Yeah. We're not getting one. :earseek:

I just thought I would post it since I knew lots of people were curious about it.

DH said for $300 it better be Mickey himself or Michael Eisner.

Wow! My the prices for the tree and the stocking have really gone up this year!!:earseek: The tree (without hidden ?) was $199 and $250 respectively. The stocking was about $29! Ouch! I was going to fork over the dough for 3 stockings and MAYBE the tree. Not anymore! Maybe just 1 stocking for my DH, MIL and myself to share? Whatcha think?

Have any of you gotten a tree before? I just wonder if the quality of the ornaments is good. I'd love to hear from someone who's done this in the past.

I think the stocking is WAY over priced! :(

Don't think I'd want to try to take a 4 ft tree home on the plane, and for that price, you'd better believe it would be coming home with me!

Didn't Toysrus have little disney trees last year? I'd rather take something I could fit into a box.

By the way, they have Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Jessie stockings at disneydeals.com for about $4.99 and Minnie for a little more. I'm thinking of just getting those and filling them myself! Unfortunately, no Mickey though. They are awfully cute though. I'm sure shopping at Disney in December is going to be VERY dangerous!

Last year was the first year my family wasn't at home for Xmas. We were at POR. I looked into getting the WDW tree. The cost was about the same as it is this year. When I spoke to the WDW florist, they told me that it included a box you could have shipped home after your stay. But for $300, I just couldn't justify it. I have a really nice tree at home and MORE THAN ENOUGH xmas ornaments (that were definitely more $$ and better quality than the ones offered on the WDW tree). Then I factored in the amount of time we'd be in the hotel to enjoy it. I just didn't seem worth it. So I went to ftd.com and ordered a small 3 foot live tree that came pre-decorated and even had little lights. It was about $60. That included the FedEx shipping to the resort. All of the major online florists offered similar trees. I ordered it 2 weeks in advanced and made sure to specify my arrival date. It worked out great and I didn't have to feel guilty wasting so much money on something I wasn't really going to enjoy.

On a side note, I brought some of Christmas window clings and a strand of lights & tinsel from Target and our room at Port Orleans Riverside felt just like home.

Do you know if it is okay to decorate? Has anyone ever given you a hard time? I supose you must use tape to hang things - but does anyone frown on that? How did you hang your lights??

:faint:

I could add two more nights to my trip for that amount!

:faint:

That is just crazy! Well, to those who buy it God Bless. On a side note, you can get that stocking at any Target store during the holidays for about $15 or less.

Both of those are so cute! Yeah, too rich for my blood though! I can't believe people would pay that much!!

Thanks for sharing, neat! :)

I called the florist. The tree is not real and the surprise is a "Where the Magic lives" pin for the kids to find. If you have more than one child (or you want more) there are $6.50 each. I would really love to get one of these, I just don't know.

She also told me about the wonderful stockings! LOL

Thank you Tink! That really helps!:wave2:

I am considering the tree for my December trip but I am surprised that it is $300. $200 was more what I expected. But I do think it looks beautiful and it would be soooo festive. Plus, I don't want to lug any decorations from home ;)
princess:

Wow. There is no way I can rationalize THAT expense and believe me, I can rationalize just about anything especially when it comes to my kids and WDW.

Surely, there must be other florists/alternatives that will deliver a Christmas tree to the resorts.

I don't want to lug any stuff from home either. We're not actually going to be there on Christmas. We're going from 12/14-12/19. It is our big Christmas present, though...especially since we're splurging for concierge, so I'd like the place to be festive.

I would use the tree at home, because we like to decorate the whole house and all of our other Christmas stuff is Disney. See, I'm trying really hard to rationalize it!

Tink! I feel the exact same way! I will ship it home and use it for years to come... We will be there the week before Christmas too and are staying concierge as well, so what's 300 more dollars:earseek:
