I am wanting to put up a Christmas tree in our room at CBR.

When I mentioned this idea to my husband, he shook his head and thought it was a crazy idea. I don't mean a 6 or 8 ft tree like he was thinking, I am thinking a small table tree or 3-4 ft tree.

Have any of you done this? I would love to take our Christmas gifts and open them in our room. I remember doing this as a young child, and it was kinda fun. We drive, so I would have plenty of room for the gifts.

We do this all the time. I purchased a 7 ft tree and had kohls send it to our resort the first year. We bring it back when we are there for christmas. Always bring the presents down wrapped. The kids love it.

You can't use a real tree. Disney In Room Celebrations offers up a couple of decorated table top trees from $100. I just bought a table top tree from The Disney Store on sale for $8.99. It's sold out, but maybe you can find one on eBay.
Also, there are some groups that will pass a tree amongst each other. But I imagine many people would want it on 12/24-12/25.

We did this last Christmas. We are DVC members and have been to WDW countless times but this was our first Christmas. We come from the UK so we didn't bring one with us. We simply went to Walmart first day and bought a little desk top tree that had battery lights on it. It was purple and we put it in our room. It looked delightful! We stayed at SSR, Wilderness Lodge and CSR the best was at CSR because we could put it in the window! When we came back to the room it looked great. I got some decorations in World of Disney to put on it We left the tree there for the Mousekeepers to keep. We kept our presents for each other underneath it.

Awesome! Thank you for the tips and ideas! I think it would be a great experience for my son. I'll definitely let my husband know that others do it all the time, and it is a wonderful idea! :goodvibes

Probably smaller than what you are looking for, but we purchased a 12" Santa Mickey tree that came in a travel container last year for our Christmas celebration. We traveled from NY to Cancun and then to WDW, so I just put this in my carryon and set it up in each hotel. The presents were bigger than the tree, but my DS still enjoyed it! http://www.disneystore.com/santa-mickey-mouse-tabletop-tree/mp/1383374/1015503/

I would definitely recommend decorating for Christmas. We stayed at Coronado Springs 12/24-1/2, this is how we decorated our room. We took a 3 foot tree (unassembled, of course :D) and all the decorations in our luggage. Btw, hope these aren't too big, I haven't used photobucket in years, I couldn't remember how to resize.

I love your pictures! The Christmas lights around the mirror and window is a great idea! I'll definitely have to do lights in our window as well... I love Christmas and Christmas lights, so I'm super excited. Your tree is about the same size I was thinking of getting.

Just a head's up FYI, you can't use tape to hang your decorations. I bought the suction cup hooks from Dollar Tree and they worked great.

Following in the hopes that others will share their wonderful room decorations, as well as any great deals!

DO IT!

I suggest a 4 foot table tree like the pics above or a slimline tree that can tuck in a corner.
Agree with no tape, use suction cups on windows or clings.
I like a table centerpiece, even in value room. It can sit on table on on top of tv cabinet.

We did it when I was a kid the first time we went for Christmas. My dad took me out and about at the resort to distract me and when we came back, the room was magically decorated for Christmas with presents under the tree! My mom had managed to sneak it all into the room and set it up.

That year was awesome too because the resort put plastic stockings chock full of candy on the doors - one for each person. They weren't doing that by the time I went back as a teenager.
