Can anyone help me ? my first visit to wdw was in may 1998. we had the best time ever. crowds where light and the weather was just right. well you can imagine the shock we had when our next visit was july 2003.we knew it would be busy we knew it would be hot.we were told it would rain. what we didn't count on was how much rain. we had to spend a lot of time at our hotel.becuse when the lightning came there was not a lot you could do.at the end of our holiday we said never again.but we have the disney bug and we did return to b c october 2004 once again it was great.medium crowds and great weather [ lots of british tourists i am also british ] we have booked our next holiday for september 2005 [b c concierge ] now for my question? we would love to stay at the grand floridan concierge level christmas and new year.would you recomend it what are the crowds like? i would love to see all the christmas decorations and special events.

For Christmas to New Year expect the crowd levels to be even worse than in July. Parks hit capacity and non-resort guests can't enter during these two weeks.

The positives are the Christmas decorations and nice weather.

I visited during Christmas in 98 and HOLY COW!! It was sooooo crowded.

You can deal with the crowds and I think this is the most special time to visit WDW.You have all the parks and resorts decorated for the holidays plus MVMCP,CP,Osborne Lights and special shows and parades.So just get a basis plan together what park you are going to what day, etc. and remember to be flexible you will be fine and have a magical experience you and family will remember forever.

The best way to do it is to go AFTER Thanksgiving and BEFORE Christmas week. You will see all the great decorations, and the crowds will NOT be bad. We always go this time of year because it is so festive.

That's exactly what I was going to say. The first 3 weeks in December are great!

The post above about the park not opening to non-resort guests is incorrect. If the park closes due to capacity issues they will then shut the park down in phases until people leave the park. I use to know the phases but I know one of the first one's is that non-resort guests can't enter but until they close the gates anybody can enter.
