I would really love to book a Christmas or Thanksgiving cruise for 2007. If I book the SECOND the dates become available what can I expect to pay for a family of four. Are the rates higher to begin with, or do they start the same as all cruises and go up as the cabins fill. In four Disney cruises including one during April vacation we have not paid more than $3000, I booked them all two years ahead. I suspect I am wishful thinking but I thought I would ask and dream :sunny:
Thanks

Cruises are cheaper the earlier you book and go up in price the closer the sail date gets. Those months are probably one of the cheapest times to cruise since it isn't a peak time. The weeks around the holidays are maybe a little bit more in cost, but still shouldn't be too bad.

Expect to spend double that....we paid in the 7's for the 4 of us for 7 night Western Thanksgiving 05.......

We did a Xmas 2003 cruise and are doing Xmas 2005.

Two cat 9 cabins, 2 people in each, abvout 7,000 total

we can only go during the holidays and believe it or not i just booked the new years eve 7 night cruise, i was looking at easter & christmas 2006 and it was $2000 more then this new years eve, so i just said if we are going to do it now is the time and if we enjoy it just as much as everyone says, then i will book for the next cruise on the cruise ship. then transfer it to DU. ;)

Enough talk already about prices. Every time I read a thread such as this, I'm reminded of how much I paid. :scared1: (Still hasn't stopped me though, from rebooking :teeth: I guess I'm just  or a DCL nut.

Any idea which category room you want? We booked our 12/24/05 as soon as it opened. In fact we faxed our requests in a year before the cruise was even available to book. Most of the people in our group a reserved for a cat. 10 (we have 4 of the SPHs). I believe the price for a family of 4 was around $5800 (not sure exactly, would have to check). You don't want to know what our cat. 3 is costing...

Thanks for all the reply's, I will of course be looking for a SPH room, so $5800 sounds like it might be right around the going price (If I book at midnight the day they become available :teeth: ). The funny thing is that the 2005 cruise seems to have rooms available for not too much more than that, according to all Seas Travel website. If its going to cost that much anyway, maybe I won't wait!!!
shelly3girls-have a great time in your cat 3!!
Thanks again, Caren

I just double checked the price on the SPH room. It was actually a little less. The original price was $5625 for 2 adults and 2 children plus DU offered a $200 rebate so the total was $5425. This total includes insurance but no transfers.

I booked my Thanksgiving, 2005 cruise in May, 2004. I just checked -- $5,341 for a cat 6 - 2 adults & 2 kids. But, that price probably had a 10% onboard discount attached. So, up it a bit for comparison.

It is currently pricing for over $7,500. Yikes!
