This is my first exchange - can someone give me some hints as to what to put into the stocking? Looking forward to this!

There are many different items that you could add in.
Many DISers of course love Disney items, but mostly everyone had listed likes and dislikes, so that could help you in what to get for your pal.

Anyone interested in making a stocking for your pets with things like dog toys, bones, or cat toys or whatever?

Sorry for being so dense but can someone please explain this further. Is this like a secret santa thing? Do we sign up for it and then get assigned to someone? Are we supposed to let them know who we are? And if they are being sent Nov.12 can we open them as soon as we get them or do we have to be good and wait for X-mas? I'm not good at waiting. Thanks in advance for the info!

You would sign up, and I will assign you a name. You would shop for that person and send it to them. You would put your name on the box so that they know who you are along with a note. When you recieve your exchange, you would open it, and post on the sent/recieved thread to let everyone know what you had recieved and who it was from.

I just like wrapping gifts, I worked at the mall wrapping presents during the holidays, so i love doing it now!

This sounds like FUN. I never get anything for Christmas because my hubby and I decided to only get gifts for the kids a long time ago. We decided this because we buy each other (and ourselves) stuff all year long. Being "adults" we figured we don't have to wait for a special occasion to get what we want the way kids have to wait for b-days or X-mas. It's worked out well for us but it would be nice to get a little surprise from somebody else. So I will send my info to you and can't wait to surprise someone else.
