Christmas Shopping 2010

I had actually run across it on youtube. It was one of the deciding factors for me in getting it, DS was entranced watching the kids play with it.

Cool! Glad to hear it helped.

I got in a lot of trouble for that video. I didn't realize my daughter was a mess from eating.

Sigh.

Men, right? :)

But it was too good to redo so it stuck.

Ok, this isn't a toy, but just figured i'd post here to see. Does anyone know where to buy one of those little "pocket rocket" mini bikes. My 14 yr old stepson really wants one and dh really wants to get him one. We have seen a few but they are electric. We would like one that takes gasoline?????? Any ideas at all?

You say it like this:

"Gosh, a skateboard, really? Wow, you know our insurance will not cover accidents on party jumpers, trampolines, pogo sticks, and...well, skateboards! Man, too bad! Thanks for thinking of her, though. How about getting her a (fill in with acceptable gift.)"

Your MIL sounds like she must be related to my MIL :rotfl:

I need to check that out. Did they have any that was candy or gingerbread themed? I got some super cute gingerbread paper at Walgreens in one town, went to a Walgreens in another town and they didn't have it :( I found some peppermint paper that was cute but not super cute.

Wow! You did get lucky! What is a WAGS? I need to get to Justice. DD wants a Justin Beiber shirt and I wanted to check out the MH stuff, too.

Sorry....Walgreens! Hopefully your local store ordered some. We have a few around here but only 1 thought to order those dolls. Searched the whole store and was abuot to ask someone when I found them on an endcap.

Search walmart.

Looks like they have the razor brand.

"limited" stores stock them, and all can have them shipped to the store from online.

Not sure if that is the best brand to get, but, it's a start!

There are also lots of specialty bike stores out there on the net, but, maybe you can dive in with a big name like Razor and see what they are like?

PS - Try searching on walmart for : Razor Pocket Rocket Blue ... looks like it has good reviews!

OK Ladies I just have to share my little victory with you all!! Even though I am sick I am very excited about this one. (Had to go to teh doctor this morning & may have strep throat.)

Went to Target to get my meds and decided to just take a quick peek at the toy department just in case. Well just in case paid off big!!! They finally got some of the single Monster High Dolls in and there were 3 on the shelf.:worship: I finally got my DD the Clawdeen Doll she wants...well the Dawn of the Dance doll with the green hair. Hopefully she loves her as much as the regular one. The other 2 dolls were Hyde Holt and of course they got more Cleo & Duece sets in stock too. Along with the diary in case anyone is looking for those.

Thanks! I also found one like it at TRU and Pepboys! But they're electric. Dh might just have to settle for that! I think the electric ones sound safer.

Well decided today to go shopping for Christmas yet again and I was able to find 2 more of the Monster High dolls...Lagoona Blue and Draculara Doll. I have tried every site and every store in town 3-4 times a week and finally found 2 at WM last night and now 2 more at KMart today! Now I just need Clawdeen Wolf and Ghoulia and I am set! I also went ahead and got the Fearbook Journal at Kmart.
I have now finished shopping for my DD6, almost completed DD10, nephew, 2 nieces! I just need to buy DD11 a few more things and get my other nephew a pillow pet and I am done!

Heh.. I hear ya. Luckily, I'm not there yet with those types of requests... But I'm sure it will happen some day!

Now you're shooting for the moon. Those are some of the harder ones to get. Some of them are "rare" as in there is only one or two per case.

But that's a good spirit you got there :) Keep it up, you'll get it :D

Speaking of rare hard stuff....

This came out of what seems like no where. When I first saw the commercial played WITHIN the iCarly episode where they played it.. I was like. DING DING. This is going to be big.

Then I honestly put it aside.

I woke up to all sorts of requests for help this morning. Hedbanz. It's basically that game that is played in the iCarly episode where they wear words on their heads and the other player gives clues as to what it is and you have to guess what is on your head. Cute and funny game all at the same time.

Well, it's real. And it's selling out like crazy all of a sudden.

The adult TRU exclusive is around too. Not sure how "adult" it is but I put out feelers. I'm kinda curious!

Just a warning to those that have iCarly nuts in the house :)

Plan ahead. It's already a tough one.

My DD9 just mentioned Headbandz a day or two ago!!!
She didn't exactly say she wanted it, nor did she write it on her list. Might have to consider it as a surprise! If I can get one!

I just bought Headbandz today at Target on sale for $12.99.

I bought my niece "My First Sewing Kit" by Alex. For ages 7+. It looks really cool - found it while browsing Amazon's toy dept. Probably not necessary for kids with mom's that sew but I'm guessing my sister doesn't even have needle and thread, let alone fabric scraps to practice with.

I found Lagoon and Draculaura too! At Justice, with a 40% discount they were 38 including tax. I am on the hunt for Ghoulia now! Justice also had Clawdeen and Cleo. Only the mall stores were supposed to get them but my store in a local shopping center had them.

Did some more shopping today. Yay, for paydays! Got the final Wheel of Time book for DH, The new Diary of a Whimpy Kid book for DS 10 and a sketch kit for a friend. So glad to still be moving forward but still have so much to do. After reading all the craziness about the Monster High dolls I am so glad my girls have never mentioned wanting them. Headbandz, now that's a different story. I can totally see my board game obsessed DD 11 wanting to get in on that one. Qestion, would I be more or less likley to find it (Headbandz) after Christmas? DD's birthday is Jan 8th. and she want's a board game tournament party. I think she'd love this as part present, part party game.

After reading this I decided to call the store near my moms (we live in small town with only WM and KMart) to see if they have ever gotten anymore in and they just got a huge shipment today!!!:yay: They had plenty of Ghoulia and Clawdeen Wolf so now I have the complete set!:woohoo: I really did not think I would find these 2 without paying ridiculous ebay prices but I am so glad I did not give up. Now DD10 is complete...DD6 is complete...now to finish DD11!!!

Looking at some historical data ....

Looks like Hedbanz lasts about an hour or so give or take right now in stock online at Amazon, TRU, etc. Sometimes it is much less though. Just depends on the time of day.

And, it's picking up the sellout speed each and every day.

I would say this is going to last for a little while. And they keep advertising it during the right times too -- iCarly.

So... this is going to be going on for a little while yet. Then, you get right in the holidays.

It's ramping up at the right time.

After xmas it will be much easier to get... but, it's out there now if you poke around.

Is this the game the kids are talking about? My DD8 asked for it and I have no idea if this is the right one:confused3

That's the one!

I just got done doing an unboxing video of it.

Its pretty cool! I'm really excited to try it out with my son.

They take the game you see on tv and expand on it with tokens and timers.

And the cards and things on them are good and fun. Like unicorns even!

:)

I think I'm finally just about finished with the exception of stocking stuffers for DH and DD (which I do at Cracker Barrel on Black Friday. I shop with a friend....we've known each other since birth, literrally. I'm a month older, we grew up 5 doors down from each other and w/in the last 2 years reconnected since we live 5 minutes from each other and have kids the same age. She talked me in to BF last year and I had a blast. She drives and I buy breakfast) and I have a few gift cards to pick up for teachers, dance instructors and the bus driver to give with some homemade goodies. I've finished wrapping yesterday too. :cool1:

So, now I need to work on my grocery shopping list for all my baking and my Cmas dinner.

I'm been itching to decorate outside because the weather has been so nice, but DH has been resistant and all my friends tell me I'm crazy. BUT, the nice weather is supposed to hang around until next Tuesday and then we are in for cold and rain for several days over the holiday, so I think this weekend I'm going to go for it! :thumbsup2

Well I drug out all my Christmas decorations last night except for a few boxes in storage shed and once I get home from work today I plan on starting my decorating! I want have much time next week to do it since I work all day Monday-Wednesday then Wednesday evening my DH and I head to my parents for Thanksgiving (2 hr drive) and won't be home until Sunday! So I plan on doing all the inside decorating and hopefully get the lights up outside this weekend so then all I have to do is for us to go pick out a tree after Thanksgiving.
I also need to pick up stocking stuffers and need a few toys for my furbaby!
