Christmas Season

It seems like I've only just got back from DLRP, I have as yet not managed to post a trip report, but I am looking at going during the Christmas Season. The main reason being is that I normally take my daughter Christmas shopping in Paris during Decmeber and having told her about the Fireworks etc in the Summer she is really keen to see them. (Also DH is thinking of taking me there in January!) Can anyone tell me what, or if, fireworks there are during December and January and what other things could we expect to see.

There are no fireworks during the Christmas season, only on NYE.

There's no fireworks but when i was there last Dec there was all the lovely decorations and the 'snowfall' every so often on main street which was magical with the music. Also the 'Once Upon A Dream Parade' is slightly different at Christmas and with Santa Claus and marching toy soldiers- it was amazing!! Plus theres Candlebration and Fantillusion which are also both great.
I'm so glad i went for the Christmas season and i would recommend it but be warned it is FREEZING LOL. I've never been so cold in my life and i'm from Newcastle! lol.

I'm right there with you Ashleigh, I have never felt anything as cold as December in DLP, we went for a mini break in December 05 and it was freezing ... even with loads of layers I have never felt cold like it but I have to say the decorations, marching toy soldiers, reindeer and the falling snow make every freezing moment worthwhile oh and they serve the yummiest hot chocolate ever ! We fully intend going again in December, probably next year but I will be much better prepared and I can fully understand why people were leaving the hotels in the morning looking like they were about to go skiing !!!

Your comment about Newcastle made me smile ... I have fond memories of nights out in Newcastle in the snow without a coat, etc, etc and even that was warmer than Disney in December

Just to say, keep your fingers crossed about the weather - you never know! We went in December 06 and it was really mild -we had coats on of course but it wasn't overly cold at all.

May that continue into December 08!

They use 'Just Like We Dreamed It' but then switch for a little bit of 'Chante, C'est Noel' as Father Christmas goes by.
Also Candleabration changes at Christmas a little bit - the Castle is lit with millions of little lights and then as Candleabration ends they play 'Chante' and the snow falls on Main Street, as it does at regular intervals during the day. The area in front of Casey Jones becomes Belle's Christmas Village with lots of little 'snow covered houses' selling hot chocolate and soup. The Old Mill is decorated with huge presents and Belle and the Beast have a signing session throughout the day. Near the entrance to the Village is a Christmas Market - lots of brightly lit stalls selling mulled wine, spicy biscuits, crafts etc.
There is a HUGE tree at the top of Main Street and a sleigh where Santa Goofy comes for signing and photo sessions. Everywhere is decorated and it is all themed with whichever ride/hotel/land you are in. Oh and fake snow on the ground in Central Plaza and piped carols replace the normal Main Street music. Can you tell I liked it?

We did a day trip to see the christmas season a couple of years ago. My dad & I loved it. I remembered my gloves & scarf but forgot my hat. It was that cold I had to go buy a woolly hat. The CM who served me asked if I wanted to have the label cut off, apprently lots of people had been caught out how cold it was. However its a good excuse for more hot chocolate

Thanks for the info.
It looks like DH will be taking me on a hotel and theatre package for my birthday in January instead.
However, DD is very keen on seeing DLRP in December when we go for our annual christmas shopping trip. As for the temperature we have been going to Paris in December since my DD was 16, she's now 21, so we know what to expect. Infact we both like Paris more in the winter.

Christmas sounds amazing. Maybe if LM likes DLRP in October I'll surprise the wife and LM with a weekend in December

Yeah it was SO cold! I wore loads of layers and even 2 pairs of gloves I felt like the Hulk! LOL.
LOL yeah thats like a 'Newcastle' thing aint it. Sometimes when im out i think 'how can they not be freezing lol' and im 21!
