Hi, My name is Chris and this is my first post here. My family and I are going to WDW during Christmas week this year, and while we are Disney veterans, this will be our first trip over Christmas day. DH and I are making a WDW Christmas Day scavenger hunt for our 2 daughters, ages 20 and 12 (and yes, even the 20 y/o will enjoy this :) ). I've found some scavenger hunt ideas on the web, and we've been there often enough to come up with some ideas of my own, but we'd like to have some clues that are specific to Christmas and the holidays at WDW.

So, if anyone out there has any ideas for Christmas/holiday clues for our game, I'd really appreciate the help! We have annual passes and we'll have a car available.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to help!
Chris

Welcome to the DIS, sbgrace. I'm glad that you found us and I hope you can visit often.

I'm going to bump this back to page one for you so that you can get some suggestions for your scavenger hunt.

Chris -

I would love to help. If you can give us an idea of a question or 2 we may have a better idea how simple or complex you want. Don't forget to add some Hidden Mickey's into the hunt (that's my personal favorite).

Sounds like terrific fun. I wish I was going for the holidays this year.
Sandy

Thanks for the welcome! :D

Sandy,

We have some easy questions/stunts...
--wish 3 strangers Merry Christmas
--get your picture taken in front of the Christmas tree in each park

Some have double meanings...
--find an elephant (could be the Dumbo ride, a real elephant at AK, or a stuffed Dumbo.)

Some will be a little harder...
--get your picture taken with Devine
--find the pickle (this is a tradition from Germany that we do at home--you hang a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree and the first one to find it gets a prize. We bought our pickle ornament at Epcot, but I'm not sure that the girls will remember that.)

We also have trivia questions, some silly Disney riddles and things to collect, so I'm open to any sort of puzzle or "test" for them. They will be working together to earn points, not competing against each other.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
TIA
Chris

Welcome, sbgrace!! Now don't just tease us...give us more of the scavenger hunt!!::yes:: What a great idea and fun, fun, fun!!

This is an incredible idea!!!! Would love to surprise my DH and son with this when we go in December. Just a little something different. My son is only 4 but he loves when we play Blues Clues games at home LOL, so this would be to cute!!

Maybe finding Santa Goofy or the gingerbread houses in the resorts!

Can't wait to read any others! Great job sbgrace and welcome to the boards:wave2:

LOL, well, I was hoping to get some of YOUR ideas! :)

I actually have about 5 pages of a Word document with clues or things to do, which we've accumulated from the internet or just off the top of our heads...bit too much to post the whole thing, but if y'all want some more ideas I'd be happy to post some.

Do all the characters wear holiday costumes? We might have some fun tracking down Santa Goofy or Mrs Santa Minnie. :)

Chris

Welcome to the DIS!

You can get pictures of holiday dressed CM's...this would be great at World Showcase.

Try to find a Mrs. Clause or elves. Take pics of Disney Christmas pins. This is much cheaper than buying pins! Look for snow.

Characters are dressed "Christmassy". My favorite is Pluto, he has a red nose and reindeer antlers on!!

WE HAVE given our groups little things like collect a receipt from one shop in each park. or collect a yellow bag, green bag and red plastic shopping bag. You must purchase something. Empty bags with no purchase is a Disney no-no.

Get a bar (drink) napkin from as many places as you can.

We have oodles of these too. When people ask me to be their private guide these are some of the things we give them to accomplish. There are even more fun ones if you have a digital camera.

Thanks for the ideas! We'll be looking for the Christmas characters. And we do plan on taking pix of the girls trying all these silly things.

Kathryn, would you mind posting some more of your ideas?

If anyone else has any ideas, especially for the Christmas/holiday season, I'd REALLY appreciate them!

Thanks!
Chris

What fun!!!! I may have to *borrow* your idea for my family! I know the kids would love it! :teeth:
