Going to Disney December 18-23 with my kids and my sister and her kids. They are not DVC members and are staying at Wilderness Lodge. I have some choices to make. I'm limited on points and am currently booked at BWV (my home) for 19-23 and will add a night when I'm able to purchase OTU points. I'd really like to stay with her in CCV or BRV, but the odds are just slim to none. I do have enough points to switch to AKL and that looks pretty at Christmas. So really here are the options I'm considering:
1. Book a night I will later cancel in order to have the OTU points in my account to switch to CCV or BRV via waitlist in case a miracle happens
2. Switch to AKL Jambo house at 7 months
3. Stay at BWV and try to add on a night at 7 months purchasing the needed OTU points if can't get a night there will stay wherever for the 18th

I would appreciate any opinions on my options as well as any opinions on these resorts at Christmas time.

I think Jambo at 7 months is also a slim to none chance, unless you want a 1BR, and that improves the chances. Studios and 2BRs will be hard.

I would assume "stay wherever" the 18th and put in two waitlists: 1 at BWV, 1... somewhere else.

Kidani has more villas, so go for Kidani. One bedroom would be more likely than studio like auroraborealis says. You might even book as many nights as possible exactly at seven months out. Then call MS when they open to add your night at the end of your stay with the one time use points.

People don;t go to Kidani for the decorations but it does have easy access to Jambo which is lovely at Christmas.
