We are thinking of taking our family to DLP over Christmas. Most likely just 24/25 of December. I don't think we need to spend more than 2 days there - our kids are only 2 and will be 4.

We are thinking of staying at the Holiday Inn and I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how early I should book. Is this a really busy time? Or is right before and right after busier?

Thanks so much!

If you're definitely planning on going at Christmas then I'd book as early as possible. The HI tends to have better rates the earlier you book.

We went for Christmas 2005 and found it really manageable. The parks were empty by the time the parade finished on Christmas Eve and I remember going round and round on POTC until we liked the ride photo! :rotfl2:

Christmas Day was also fine, it was from Boxing Day and the day after that it started to get mega busy. On Christmas Day you'll only have hotel guests at the parks as the locals won't be coming in that day.

Prepare for it to be very cold. It started off mild when we arrived and I though I'd wasted my money on thermals. Two days later it was -8C and we had real snow :cold: but boy, was it magical. :cloud9:

We spend Christmas 2004,2005,2006 and 2007 in Disney and found Christmas Day very busy except 2005 when the weather was really cold and bad. Driving home in the snow was really bad.

I think the locals decide the last minute what to do depending the weather. It usually gets crowded after 12 hours.

I remember New Year in 2002 at Disney when we even did not need a coat that evening. It was wonderful but extremely busy evening.

This year I will make photo's and post them here Christmas Day if nothing goes wrong. ;)
Let's hope we all got nice winter weather this Christmas.
