I managed to consolidate my site reservations for Christmas week. I am very relieved, because we decided late in the game to try Fort Wilderness at Christmas this year. My original reservations required us to move three times in five days from the 20th-25th, and then go spend the 25th and 26th at Tropical Palms.

I managed to consolidate all three FW campsites into one "full hookup" campsite for the five days. That means we won't have to move all around! yeah!!!

We're still going to Tropical Palms the last couple of days because there is nothing open for a motorhome at FW on the 25th or 26th. I can live with that. We've stayed there before and like it.

So now... tell me about the full hookup sites? We don't need any extras but do like to be as secluded as possible. It sounds like this will fit the bill perfectly. Anybody have any info or advice?

If you like to be secluded, request either 1800 or 1900, as they are completely off the main roads. I prefer 1800, but haven't seen 1900 since they did a lot of filling in swampy areas. 1800 also backs up to the canal dog walk which is advantageous if you have a pet to walk. And 1800's CS is being renovated, so it should be even nicer once done.

:santa:

Thanks for the great info. I looked at your google earth site and it is great.

I'm jealous you got in! I've been checking back regularly to see if we can get a full or better site the week before or after Christmas and everything is booked. Not surprisingly, of course, I'll keep checking just in case someone cancelled.

Have a great trip!

When they were moving my reservations around it appeared there were some preffered and full sites available a day at a time here and there during that time period, so the cancellations have begun. For weeks there was nothing at all except tent/pop up sites. Good luck!

congratulations!!!! My favorite time is Christmas at Disney, but I am trying to convince the hubby we need to go over Christmas........so for now Halloween will have to do.

We were at FW-WDW this past Christmas. It was more magical than we can describe! Enjoy your trip and keep checking back for the 25 and 26th. It's amazing how cancellations will begin occurring in the fall.

We have been at FW during 4 of the last 6 Christmas seasons, I used my first choice vacation again this year to get the time off and was lucky enough to get it. Last year we had to stay home due to work, we commented regularly about how we all wished we were at FW. It has become a tradition in my family that I hope to continue for a very long time.

Congratulations! This will be our third year spending part of the Christmas season at the Fort. I wouldn't miss it...God willing. It is truly magical.

Congrats! You'll love being there at Christmas, its my favorite time at WDW and the Fort makes it even better.

The kids are pretty excited about it. They are big kids now and will be starting college in the fall. We've been to Disney a gazillion times, and we've braved Christmas week before... but we've never stayed at the campground. I'm sure we'll have a wonderful trip no matter what happens.

We love the 1800 loop, our favorite. Its very nice, quiet, and secluded. Its so serene that dogs seam to know not to bark! You don't even hear the buses hardly at all.

Congrats on consolidating your ressies. It's nice to know that you can still get that done (and hey, it's only May!). Of course, don't give up on adding your remaining dates but as we tell folks, "keep calling" and you can piece together a complete stay.

So good luck and keep trying!
