We will be at WDW the 2nd week of Dec and want to see as much of the holiday stuff as possible. I've read about MVMCP and CP and plan to do them. I need to know what else there is to do at that time of year.
1. Do all the parks have tree lighting ceremonies? what time?
2. Do the character meals have a Christmas theme or are they
the same as usual?
3. Are the storytellers in EPCOT all day or just in the evening?
What times are the shows?
4. Can we see Fantasmic and the Lights @MGM the same day?
5. Is there anything special or different at DD?
Any tips would be helpful. Thanks.

I've been in early Dec. 3x. It's the very best time to go to WDW, you'll have a great time.

I'll do my best to answer your questions:

1. I know that there is a tree lighting at both MK and EPCOT. Around 5:30 each evening, I believe. When you arrive it will be detailed in the park map.
2. The character meals are generally the same, although the restaurants are festive, decorated for the holiday. I've never been to Liberty Tree Tavern, it may have the characters costumed for the holidays. Check with Disney Dining, they should know.
3. There is storytelling every hour during the day at EPCOT. As I remember, the last storyteller is around 5:30. There are none at night. Again, the park map will detail the times for each country. We did quite a few of these and they are wonderful! After the story, you can take pictures with the "Santa" from that country.
4. You can usually enter the Osborne Lights around 5:30. You would have time to view the lights and then move on to the line for Fantasmic. However, the best time to view the lights is just before closing as the crowd thins out and it is MUCH better viewing.
5. DD usually has a really nice set up to see Santa.

Thanks so much for the info. I'm trying to plan my days to see everything. It's so hard when you don't know what time things are. Thanks again as I figured we would do the storytelling in the evening.
