Christmas Picture Cards?

I have the release, but a duplication is never as good as the original (but I worked in the photo industry for years and tend to be a little pickier than most folks). I wish I would have gotten one of our photos made into cards. Too late now! Remember the tip... if you think that you "might" want something, get it. You will regret it later if you don't. It was on the tip list... I remembered the over the door shoe hanger, but forgot about the buy or you'll regret it tip

O.k. I just found my receipt from the Christmas cards I bought last week. It is 59.95 for 100 and 39.95 for 50. I think you could get 25 for 19.95 if I remember right.

There is one background that is the splotchy grey that is a traditional photography background along with the white. They had some other backgrounds, but I am not a fan of those. We did get our formal in front of the Mickey Statue by Lumiere's which was nice.

The white turned out beautiful. My DD6 had a navy dress. DS11 had a medium blue shirt and DS8 had a blue oxford on. Both boys wore khaki pants. I especially liked the white background for the Christmas cards because the cards are so cute that the white didn't make it way too busy.

Here is a picture of the xmas card we bought last Xmas. I don't know if they still have this design. :confused3

Just a thought............

I have the name of the company who manages Shutters. On the back of your DCL photo is a roll number, etc. They might be able to make you some cards.

Ours came out so beautifully! I ordered 50 for $39+. It was worth it. It so happened that our formal wear consisted of both DDs wearing red dresses, DH wearing a dark suit with a red tie and me wearing a black dress. Perfect holiday colors.

Our Lifestyle portraits also came out very well. Against the white background, all four of us wore "melon" color shirts and khaki pants/skorts. All barefoot. I am so thankful I prepared for this. My advise is: try to bring a coordinating set for the Lifestyle background.

:wizard:

I have to ask this question, all be-it-stupid......is the Lifestyles pictures ever then "converted" into a , say Disneyship background? I am confused on what happens to the white background pictures? I completely understand that in the right circumstance (ie; other DCL added picture jargen) the white background is enough and you wouldn't want it to be too "busy". ;)

Are there any and all of these options when you actually show up to Shutter's and then they give you the options? :confused3

Nothing is added or converted with the lifestyle pictures. They are like the pictures you might get at a photo studio...on a plain white background. Looks great with casual wear and formal wear alike. I have had many done of my kids on the white background, barefoot...it's my favorite! We've done jeans and white t-shirts, overalls with no shirts (when they were smaller!), sundress and khaki shorts/polo combination...and even their formal christmas outfits. They all came out adorable! On the cruise we did matching tropical outfits for the whole family. Go ahead and have them taken...there's no obligation to buy as a previous poster said...and you might really like them!

do you make an appointment for these lifestyles white background pictures? is it done during formal nights? or maybe not, since others have stated that they were in casual wear/bare foot. :flower:

The Lifestyle portraits were every night it seemed - 5:30, 7:30, 9:30 type of thing. Since it's white from where you sit all the way up the back, they won't let you walk on it with your shoes (even the photographer was in his socks). Ours was taken in a way that you can't see we didn't have our shoes on (and he also did a GREAT job of having the kids hide their kids club bracelets...I noticed some of the other photographers didn't take that care). We took our pics on the night we went to Palos so we were semi casual.

Hi, this is the first image I've tried to post! At first it was huge - now it's kind of small. Hopefully the size will be viewable when I "submit" it! I'll post a picture with the white background for those of you trying to get an idea. I couldn't get two images to show in one post so........

Hope this helps!

Here's a Lifestyle photo. I wasn't going to bother with doing the Lifestyle photos. However, each time I'd see some on the wall in Shutters they'd grow on me. Like someone else posted in a thread (in so many words) you see the people in the photo and aren't distracted by the background. I like the other shots too, but these are cool.

DH pretty much refused (I had gotten a couple of family portraits already) but the boys cooperated. Our photogropher was o.k. but didn't seem to go all out like some. He took three poses. The one I really liked had a glare off my sons glasses. The photogropher didn't make adjustments for that with the way my sons head was held, etc. like I read in another post somewhere. So I bought this one instead. After a few weeks of thinking "I should have bought the other one".........I just ordered it!

If you can tell in the card samples two of the shots uses are the lifestyle/white background.
