Christmas party trip 2016

I was just looking at resorts for a trip for the Christmas party next November or December and was shocked some resorts are already sold out!!! So now I want to book somewhere today. My choices are wilderness lodge or Polynesian?? I have never had any desire to stay at wilderness lodge but thinking for Christmas it might be nice. Anyone have any pros/cons to these two resorts for Christmas time!

The Poly is our favorite overall, but the WL wins out for us at Christmas time. All of the resorts are nicely decorated, but the WL is just amazing, IMO. The WL is beautiful any time of year, but especially so during the holidays. The lobby has a cozy/homey feeling as the huge fireplace surrounded by rocking chairs is very inviting. I think you'd have a great time at either resort as they are both great places to stay, but the WL would my choice that time of year. With that said, if you do want the WL, it's probably best to book it now if there's availability as the WL is very popular during the holidays. Good luck.

I don't believe they're booked.

When you look that far out, WDW has not released all the rooms. For WL, they have an 18-month construction project and are likely not releasing many rooms more than 6 months out.

You cannot rely on inventory being accurate 14 months out. I would bet that if you looked, CR garden wing also looks booked. They hold those for conventioneers.

They are booked out at wl and gf some dates already!! cr garden wing is available any date I checked. It's gf, poly and wl that don't have availability some dates. I was surprised too!

Truly, I don't think they're booked. I think availability hasn't been released.

Well we can agree to disagree standard views are sold out but other views remain making me think they have been released and booked. But with us not being in our room a lot I want standard view.

GF is a convention hotel which means blocks of rooms get held for conventions up to a negotiated date. The most common booking for a convention is a standard view.

I am aware of that but several non convention hotels have no availability for november dates already too…but that's not really what I was asking… I was asking for opinions on resorts

You may want to try to call, sometimes the website has glitches.

I don't think it's any glitches in the web site. I too called and certain dates in Nov are sold out at Poly, and GF, as previous poster noted.
