We'll be at the Fort mid-December and were thinking about going to the MK Christmas Party while we're there. Looks like even with the passholder discount, it's going to be @ $50 per adult. It would cost us a total of @$250. We went to the Halloween/Not-so-scary thing one Halloween in the past.....and it was fine. Nice. Okay. But, it was nothing I was dying to do again.

Anyone been to the Christmas one? What's your opinion? La Nouba has been suggested by quite a few of our friends, but we can't do both.

Since you have been to the Halloween party, it is pretty easy to describe the Christmas party for you.

The Christmas party is pretty much the same deal as the Halloween party, minus the Headless Horseman, Halloween parade, trick or treating and characters in Halloween costumes. But add Christmas decorations, a special Christmas parade, free cookies and hot cocoa, "snow" falling on Main Street and characters in holiday attire.

You can see the Christmas decorations any evening with regular park admission. The cookies and hot cocoa are nothing to write home about. The snow on Main Street is cool, but is it worth fifty bucks?

I personally don't think the Christmas party is worth the extra money.

I have no opinion on Cirque. I've never seen it, and probably never will. Dudes in tights. Enough said.

You sound like DH. The look on his face when one of his buddies said they had seen it several times and thought it was great. He immediately offered to stay at the Fort with the baby while I took the girls and my mom.

We're doing the HDDR next month and I wanted to do an extra something on this trip, too. Of course, everyone else would be content with ice cream after dinner one night and call it a day. Maybe I could leave all the kids with DH at the Fort and take my mom to La Nouba!!!

La Nouba is pretty awesome. It's a lot of money, though.

One really cool part of the Christmas Party that you don't get with regular admission is the Christmas Parade. You get the regular (non-holiday) parade during regular hours, and they save the Christmas one for the party.
The Christmas parade is pretty cool. You get your toy soldiers, santa, all the characters in their holiday gear, etc.

We were there last year when the MVMCP's ended, on Dec 19th, I think, and they started doing the Christmas Parade during regular hours after that. So we saw it then. I can't see us doing the Christmas Party until all the kids are old enough to be awake for it. (or we snag a babysitter for them!)
