Christmas Parade

Hi Everyone!! We're planning a WDW vacation for December, 2010. I CANNOT wait--however we are going on a strict budget!! If you had your choice, would u take your family of 5 to the Christmas parade or would you pay extra to stay in a deluxe resort for 3 nights? We are planning on staying 5-6 nights and I'm so unsure what we should do!!! I don't want them to miss anything Magical about the Christmas party but yet my kids LOVE to swim and the Beach Club has such an awesome pool. Its going to be a surprise trip so I cannot get their opinions!!!! Thanks everyone for your input!!!!! (I'm a first time poster!!!)

We attended the Christmas parade taping one year with good ol' Regis. Highly over rated in our book.

Buy the tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party it ROCKS!! The cookies and hot chocolate are AWESOME!

Not sure when you are going in Dec., but at some point in Dec the Christmas party parade, is shown during the day replacing the normal parade.(if I am wrong about this, please some one correct me). If you are not going during this time I would go to the party.
As far as staying for a shorter amount of time in a deluxe just for the swimming pool, I personally wouldn't. My kids love to swim and for them they would rather stay longer with a not so exciting pool that shorter with a great pool. And I think that you will find that the other pools have fun features too. Good luck making your decision.

Remember that is may be too cold to swim much in December. We always go in Winter and have had trips where we swam most days and trips where even the kids would not get in!!

We liked the MVMCP but if budget is tight, it is not a must do. You can also vist all the deluxe hotels without staying there. We do however LOVE staying at the WL in the winter.

Christmas is a very special time to visit. We loved the candle light prosession, resort hopping, the santas at WS, as well as just enjoying all the wonderful sights and sounds and smells. The trip will be great no matter which choice you make.

I'm used to value resorts, and had a great time at the Christmas Party and my kids loved the parade, so I would go to the party
