Christmas parade

I read somewhere on here that up until Christmas the 3:00 parade at MK is the regular parade. Does anyone know if the Christmas parade is shown on Christmas? (That would make sense to me) When we were there in 2004 it poured and the parade was cancelled. Twice :sad2:

The actual parade you see on T.V is taped early in the month around the 2-3rd of December not actually LIVE from WDW/DL, etc that morning.

Usually the 3pm parade at the Magic Kingdom will remain the same until about a week or so before Christmas Day. Then they usually show MVMCP parade at the 3pm timeslot.

When I went in 2002 & 2003, they showed the MVMCP parade at the 3pm timeslot on the Saturday & Sunday that they were taping the Christmas Day parade.

Wasn't Christmas Day 2004 horrible weather-wise? We got in for our 1st Christmas at WDW late the evening before and the weather wasn't too bad...by morning the wind was really picking up and there was frost on the windshield of the car. Just as I staked out my spot for the parade and DH and DS went off to ride something pretty far away it started to pour. The blanket I had out was soaked, I was soaked, and the boys were no where to be found. I ended up standing in the same spot with the umbrella freezing for about 15 minutes until they came back. It took all our energy to stay warm enough to make it to our Christmas ADR at Crystal Palace--sometime around 4:00.

Thankfully that week the weather got better each day and we actually wore shorts at least one full day. The Christmas parade that they normally show during the evening at MVMCP is shown the entire week--and you can get much better pictures since it's daytime!

We're heading back to WDW for our 2nd Christmas this year. Hopefully the weather is more cooperative. Thankfully DH now understands which toy soldiers I absolutely love so he'll be sure to actually film or take pictures while I do the other. (He thought I was talking about the army men from Toy Story :) )

Thanks
I knew they showed the Christmas parade during the day at some point because we caught it the day after last time we were there. This year we are leaving the day after Christmas so I am glad we should be able to see it.

AStamm - yes the weather was awful 2004 Christmas. It was about 4:00 when we took a break inside The Harbour House to decide what we were going to do with the rest of the day. When we went back out the rain had stopped and the majority of the people had left. We walked onto several rides with no wait what so ever. I actually have a picture of the Splash Mountain sign saying there was a 5 minute wait.

Let's hope for sunnier and dryer weather this Christmas.
