Christmas Parade?

So is the Christmas parade always taped the first weekend in Dec.? We will be there from Dec. 2-8. We weren't planning on going into any parks on Dec. 2nd but if that's when they are taping the Christmas parade we'd love to see it. Should I call and try to add Friday night onto our ressie so we can be there for the Christmas parade on Sat.? Is it also taped on Sunday too?

We have friends that live in Florida and they went last year for the Christmas parade taping. They said it was a total madhouse!!

We found that Main Street was a madhouse because all of the parade stuff was being done there. We took the opportunity to go on popular rides with little to no wait. I believe they do it multiple times to get one that's just right.

According to the Fall Mickey Monitor (the WDW annual passholder news letter), this year's Christmas Day parade will be taped on Dec. 1, Dec. 2, and Dec. 3.

Does anyone know when they start and finish the taping?

Remember, the 'parade' is not run as a regular parade. It is run in segments, often one float at a time, small groups of CM's, often no music. It is a long, tefious affair to tape it all, and then edited to make it appear like a regular parade. I avoid MK then. Just an FYI.
