Christmas ornaments in carry-ons?

We're bringing a small Christmas tree with us when we go to WDW. We just bought some small round glass ornaments to go on the tree. Do you think we can bring these in our carry-ons? I'm worried about them getting squashed if we pack them. They were only a few $$, so it's no great loss, but I didn't know if airline security would view them as a threat. I suppose they could be. We're flying Northwest.

It would be a shame to have broken shards all over your luggage if they should break....do you still have time to get the same type of ornaments in plastic? Seems like a better medium for travel.
Have a wonderful time I just looked over the Osbourne lights display on the boards home page and they look UNBELIEVABLE!! Lucky you.
