Christmas or Spring Break?

We are starting to plan our next trip to Disney. We have always gone to Disney in late September so the crowds have never really been an issue. Due to our schedule and my older kids activities I think our next trip will have to be during one of the busy times of the year. Which one is more busy the two weeks before Christmas or Spring Break? Our spring break is usually around the 20th of March. Thanks for any input :)

I'll put in my two cents. Both will be crowded. You said that you had always gone in September. If you have never been during the holidays, it is really special. So, I would suggest that. There is so much to look at during the holidays! Spring Break will be a lot like September - great for the pools and plenty of sunshine.

Merry Christmas!

I have gone both time periods.
Both are busy - quite busy, but with proper planning and touring - both are worth doing.

Christmas is quite something to see. I would say that season is busier than spring break. You need to see the Christmas season, at least once - it is my husband's favorite trip of all time (and he is not a disney person). We are going to WDW this next week with the MVMCP on Sunday. I would recommend that too, at least once. We went in 2010 and doing it again this year.

Merry Christmas to you as well! I do think it would be great to visit during the holidays. My oldest daughter is begging for a Christmas trip so we will probably end up going then.

How fun!!! We will definitely do the Christmas party. The Halloween party has always been our favorite part of the trip! Have a great trip!!!

I think Christmas is definitely busier as spring break times vary for schools. Both will be crowded but can be manageable with just a little planning.

While the Christmas decorations are great, F&G is even better IMO.

I agree with alliecat523, spring break is all over the place. Shoot, our little town has a major university and city schools, the three counties that border it have county and city schools within them, all of which have different dates for spring break. I go during F&W every year, normally the first week because I'm squeezing just one more trip out of my AP and I go during F&G every year. I used to go in April for my birthday but now that my son is back at the university (he did a stint in the Navy between) we go during his spring break. That break will be the first full week in March this year, last year it was the third week so even the university isn't at the same time. We are going next week on a last minute decision type of thing and I'm fully prepared for the crowd but excited about seeing all the decorations. By being prepared I mean I haven't booked a single ADR or FP and won't until the we are on the road on the way down, but we never do. I have been checking the web site every day and so far there are ADRs available and FPs available so we aren't worried, even if we don't ride many rides just being there is good for us.

Spring break can be busy. Easter is April 16th next year. That will help a little with the crowds if you go around the March 20th.
