Christmas-open house.

Hi. My cousin is having a christmas open house and wonder- do you take something to for them? We don't drink. My mom sugested baking, I do make scrapbook cards also.

Baking is a great idea or you could pick up some gourmet products (spreads, sauces, chocolates, tea, etc...) I usually pick up a variety of things at Winners at a reasonable cost before the holidays to have on hand just for this reason. It doesn't have to be expensive, it's the thought that counts.

Ever since I was in university, I've baked Christmas cakes. I baked my 23rd batch in September and now I baste it in Brandy until party season. Everyone loves my cakes. (BTW I'm a guy, DW loves it too).
We usually bring some sliced cake along with a garnish of chocolates and mini candy canes.

I would say some cards would be nice, not baking as they will have food and sweets already, and imagine if everyone brought baking, what would they do with it all.

Wine or flowers is also nice. But I know if it were me the best thing would be for you to attend and spend family time with me. But that is just me and you know your cousin better than me.

We just had a big halloween bash on Sunday and I was surprised when two families showed up with a gift. It was unexpected but very nice.

I would bring something. I would first ask the host if there is something I could bring. If they do not give you anything as a suggestion (such as food) I would take a Christmas floral arrangement, wine or liquor, etc. Bath & Body Works also do bottles of hand soap in all kinds of Christmas scents.
