Hi Everyone

We are a family of four (DD12 & DS10) from Australia looking at booking our first Disney Cruise for this Christmas (will be the kids present & a surprise until we get there). Did anyone spend Christmas Day on the Dream & can give me a list of must do's? .

What did they do on Christmas Day? This will be a sea day
What would I need to prebook before we go?
What was the weather like?
Any other info you could give me would be great.
Thank you in advance

I was on magic for Christmas 2017. I know it’s not dream but I hope this helps
We needed to get tickets from guest services for gingerbread house making as we got onto the ship but apart from that there was nothing else pre bookable apart from usual princess meet, Anna & Elsa etc.
Christmas Day was magical, the kids had a ticket for a gift from Santa (cup). The line for Santa on Christmas Day was enormous, but on magic he was out for two hours straight. There were Christmas nibbles, gingerbread etc and hot chocolate and coffee in the atrium to snack on throughout the morning.
We did characters pre breakfast and they were all in Christmas dress we got Mickey, Minnie, chip & dale, Pluto and stitch in around an hour and half.

Hi - we just did the 4 day Dream Christmas cruise this past December. They reversed the itinerary for this cruise so Christmas was the last day and a Sea Day. So it went, PC-CC-NA-SEA. The boat was beautiful and had lots of christmas related events in the main atrium. There was santa, hot cocoa and cookies and special uniforms from the wait staff. Weather was awesome, however this differs from season to season, however its still usually warm in the Bahamas. You and the kiddos will have a wonderful time.

Waking up on the Dream last year was amazing. We had a great time the whole trip. There were special Christmas crafts and you could get tickets to build a Gingerbread house. There was a life size gingerbread house in the atrium and on Christmas morning they opened it up to explore. Cookies to leave for Santa were available to take to your room Christmas Eve and we were left with a special invitation to come to the atium with the kids for a special treat Christmas morning. I don't want to be a spoiler but I will say it's worth a trip downstairs on Christmas morning.

Thank you so much for your replies. I am getting very excited & cant wait to see my kids faces when we arrive at the port & realise we are actually boarding this ship. I am so happy the weather was great last Christmas. Fingers crossed it will be again this year. Was it hot enough to swim?

I noticed they have theme nights like Pirate night on the Disney Dream Was this still on the Christmas cruise or did they have a more Christmas theme? Also, are there fireworks at any point?

We also did the Dream this past Christmas. Yes, there was a Pirate night (CC) but Christmas theming throughout the ship. Even the little "pillow" gifts had a Christmas theme. The weather was warm enough to do the pools on the ship, but we found CC a little cool. There are also worship services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Our cabin wasn't too far from the kids' activity centers and there was quite a bit of holiday magic there along with Disney animated Christmas movies on Funnel Vision. We (3 adults) had a wonderful time! Yes, there were fireworks on Pirate Night, too!

Do they have a special Christmas dinner? This will be our first Christmas in winter as we are used to a very hot Christmas. What is there to do on CC on a cool day?
Thank you

Yes they do have a special dinner menu. Ham, turkey, that sort of stuff. And the wait staff wears special uniforms that they told us are for christmas only. (or select few holidays). Castaway Cay was almost 80 and perfect when we were there. If its too cool to be out for you then you can shop, bike, have lunch, walk around. Probably lots more to do as well. We grabbed a hammock and enjoyed the sun all day :)

Small clarification--the water at CC was a little cool, not the weather itself. The beach (Serenity Bay), and I would venture to say, a hammock, was delightful. Racer X, I have a staff member who has your screen name as his license plate!

I'm jealous - i tried every iteration that would make sense here and they were all taken. Not to date myself too much but do you recall where that's from?

Speed Racer! Racer X was Speedy's mysterious older brother! You aren't dating yourself--every afternoon at 4 pm here in Chicago! I still remember the song...Go Speed Racer Go!

To the OP, whose thread I seem to have hijacked, there are also wonderful spots around the boat for holiday pictures and videos. One of best family pictures in years was in front of the large Christmas tree. Also, there are special holiday beverages. And, if you wish to come into a decorated cabin, they had cozy throws (really popular) and other holiday decor that could be ordered prior to the cruise. We ordered a small floral piece that was really lovely, some people ordered small trees, etc.

We are on the Fantasy in 2018 and can't wait for the cruise. It will be so much fun! Glad to hear about all the little extras they are doing!!!
