I was hoping The Muppets would get it myself............

I'm in the minority here. As a rock chick at heart, I love Rage Against The Machine, joined the Facebook and bought the song (despite already owning it!) :thumbsup2 I think it's pretty appropriate in that it's an anti-establishment song and was that not the whole point of the "Rage Against The Cowell Machine" campaign? I for one thought it was quite funny :lmao:

Did not like Joe's version of The Climb, at all. Totally did not understand the choosing of it! Probably in the minority again but when Leona released A Moment Like This I personally thought (and still do) that Kelly Clarkson's version is a million times better! Poor show. First X Factor winner in 5 years not to be Christmas number one.....

still think the best crimbo record that never got to number one was Wams Last Christmas
Simon Cowell made on both records this year as both acts were on his label
Some protest then
Paulh

I think it's funny... I used to love RATM when I was younger, hard to believe Killing in the name was released in 1992!

Simon Cowell made on both records this year as both acts were on his label
Was just about to reply saying the same thing. Also the irony of buying an anti-establishment song from iTunes..! ;)

No they are not, RATM are on EPIC and Joe is on SYCO which are both affiliated with Sony and come under the Sony umbrella. Simon has nothing to do with RATM and will not benefit from their sales. Sony will however benefit from both acts.

he will probably not make money directly but as a major shareholder of sony/bmg
he stands to make some dividends
he is music producer and executive of the BMG UK and so directly involved in the partnership with sony

It will be peanuts though for a company of that scale. It wouldn't make a massive difference to the dividends. Itunes download is 79p and that money is split between a few people from the band, publishers etc.

Singles don't make that much money. Simon will make more money from the TV show than he does from Joe single.

I. Simon will make more money from the TV show than he does from Joe single.

Freemantle own the rights to the x factor, pop idol and BGT
Reason why Simon cowel has teamed up with Philip Green is so he can buy the rights
