Christmas New Years 2013 car rental codes?

We are looking for codes over New Years 2013, specifically Dec 26, 2013 - Jan 1, 2014. We need a full size, SUV, or a minivan

When booking first opened we booked with the Travelocity code with Budget and have a minivan on hold for $302.84 including tax. Looking today that price is no longer available. Originally I had also checked the KLM code but it was higher than the code I have, checking that option today is MUCH higher priced. Today I tried the Alamo vroom code as it was one I hadn't heard of before and that is also higher priced

I know there is a December thread out there but wanted to start one specifically for travel during the holiday week

Does anyone have any other codes out there for this time of year that would lower our price?

The Alamo vroom code is giving me the exact same price for our 9 days before Christmas as it is for our 9 days in August. However, I can't book flights yet and don't want to bother booking until I know what I need exactly. I won't know if we are flying Friday or Saturday until Southwest releases the schedule.
I'll dig up last years December thread to start to get an idea of what people paid and more importantly when the price drops occurred.

Still no lucky on finding good rates for Christmas and New Years 2013.

Paying more than usd 1000(cdw, EP and taxes included) for a fullsize sedan for 17 days is too much, isn´t it?

Last year, rates were high like this at Christmas. I just checked my dates every day with the search box on the florida page at rentalcodes.com/florida.html , it shows all the best base rates for all the rental companies side by side. Sooner or later one or two of the companies will run a sale, that's when you want to plug in the best discount you have for that company and book. I ended up making my last booking on October 17 last year when Dollar & Thrifty ran a special and never saw rates get any lower after that.

I booked mine on January 2 of this year for Dec 26, 2013-Jan 1, 2014 and the prices have doubled since then. I am glad I booked so far in advance since the price was what we normally pay during other times of the year. We booked with the travelocity code with Budget. I will look again closer to the time but being a holiday I don't think we will find better

Ok, just booked a fullsize car (ouch!), but I´ll keeping looking for better deals.

Just so you know, prices went down a little!

Fullsize was about $1100 now is $850.
