I turned on my car radio this morning to my favorite oldies station (depressing my old high school songs are the oldies now) and they were playing White Christmas. I thought it was a fluke so then they said "your Christmas station" and then played another holiday song. Wonder if they mistook Veteran's Day for Thanksgiving? For those in Sacramento, 93.1 fm

I'm not in the mood yet so changed to the talk station. Christmas music and movies I can only do from Thanksgiving to New Years, after that....I can't take them anymore and they are packed away for another year.

Now see, I'm the opposite. Last year, a local station started playing Christmas music the day after Halloween, so this year I have been looking for it, but that station isn't playing Christmas music yet and neither are any others I can get, FM or AM stations. It almost makes me wish I had satellite radio back so I could get the Christmas music on there.

100 percent agree with this. I was going to say the same thing, and then I noticed your location. Hi, Neighbor!! I've been so disappointed that the Christmas music isn't on yet.

I love Christmas, and I love Christmas music, but I also love Thanksgiving, and I'd like to focus on that this month. (or at least until Nov 26th! lol)

Our "Christmas station" here usually starts the day after Thanksgiving, but last year they started *Nov 1st* which I thought was way too early.

Maybe I'm not the only one who felt that way, because they haven't started yet this year.:rolleyes1

I was tired of it by the time it was actually Christmas. What's worse, they *stopped* playing it on CHRISTMAS DAY! :headache: Hello? Maybe that would be the number one day it would be nice to have it playing in the background while you opened gifts and stuff.

Also, we don't finish up with "Christmas stuff" until the 26th, or the 28th, and many people don't consider the season at an end until Jan 6th, so I hate that they rush us into it, and then when it finally arrives, they say it's over.

One of the Minneapolis stations has started it too...:confused3:rotfl:

With snow predicted here tonight..I guess it seems appropriate. LOL

A lot of people have started calling Thanksgiving "the forgotten holiday." I think that be due to Thanksgiving not having much to do with retail profits like Christmas. Christmas used to begin after Thanksgiving, and some people really didn't get into it until a few weeks before Christmas actually came. There is no spirit of Christmas anymore, just the spirit of the bargain. A sad commentary, indeed, and that's coming from an atheist making an objective observation. So many major corporations end up basing their success for the year on the economics of Christmas spending.

Regardless of how nice Christmas music is, we shouldn't be hoping for the holiday to be over so we don't have to listen to it anymore. And I hear that from a lot of my religious friends and family.

Not too early for me!

I can get some Sacto stations, so I'll try 93.1 - thanks!

Sirrius switches channel 3 or 4 to Christmas music starting Monday. I thought that was too early!

I got in my car at lunch time today, heard that, screamed, and changed the radio to 92.1.
I also screamed LAST Saturday when I was at Arden Fair Mall and SANTA was there. Apparently I wasn't the only one shocked, I was at the mall 30 minutes and not a single person sat in Santa's lap.

got in the car this morning with my sister and we turned on our local radio station (Detroiters-100.3 WNIC) and they have started their full out Christmas lineup....

The Christmas station in Panama City is Sunny 98.5. They have started playing Christmas music. They used to start it on Thanksgiving Day, now they start it near the beginning of November. My DH loves it.
