I cannot believe I saw this with my own eyes, but I watched as someone walked up to the outside podium at Le Cellier, asked for a table and was told they could be seated in 15-20 minutes! And I thought "I" got lucky when I made my ressie 4 months ago! I actually changed my res on the flight here (while my laptop battery was about to die, talk about pressure) and was able to snag a different time! I said something to our waitress about it and she said since they instituted the credit card policy (where they require your cc#at time of reservation and charge a $10 fee for one day cancels or no show PER PERSON) that it has "opened up availability a bit." She said they had up to ONE HUNDRED people "no showing" a day! Crazy! There were even empty tables when we were dining at 6:30. So, one more reason to NEVER GIVE UP when trying for a reservation, even at Le Cellier! I know it's not the busiest time of year, but STILL.

That is great! I am totally in favor of the new cancellation policy - it allows those who are 100% serious about keeping their ADRs the ability to book more popular restaurants without scrambling quite as much...or at least that is what my hope is. It bothers me when people book several places with no intention of keeping them all.

I would love to book Le Cellier for lunch during my stay in Feb, but so far there is no availability during the entire week I'm there. I'm fairly confident at least a few will drop their ADRs before then, but will I be fast enough to snag one? Who knows!

I too like this new policy. Now there are actual tables for those who really want it.

I went there for lunch on 11/14 and there were empty tables. Also on 11/17 someone walked up to Rose and Crown for dinner and got in. This was during the "free dining" week.

So don't give up!!

Our first trip to DW was mid-Dec. 2008. Although we reasearched the heck out of the resorts and parks, we were a little green to the whole ADR thing (we didn't find DIS in time). We lived off mainly CS that trip. Anyway, one night we walked up to Le Cellier and asked the guy at the podium if we could get a table....he literally looked at me like I had 3 heads!!!:rotfl2:
It was all he could do to keep himself from bursting out in laughter while informing us they weren't taking walk-ups and we needed a reservation.
