(Christmas) Lights, Decorations, Action…..A Post-Christmas PTR (update 12/22-page 42)

Finally some content on this thread! (Just needling you Marv. ;) )

Your arrival day plans sound pretty good. There should be LOTS of holiday sights to take in, both at the resort and at Epcot. That'd be cool to see the various Santas around WS.

I know my plans changed at the last minute for our previous Christmastime trip when we added another guest and wanted him to get the most from his first visit, but I still can't believe I didn't take a single picture of the Christmas tree in the lobby of Jambo House while I had the chance. Every time I thought about it I didn't have the camera handy, and then all of a sudden we get up one morning and it was completely gone! :scared1: I took lots of character greet pictures of him and the two of them for his family, but very few decoration pictures at all! :sad2: No pictures of our room, very little food porn, none of the must-haves for a DISer! I did get quite a few of the Osborne lights, but they were all on my cell phone!!! :confused3

This trip, we are going to try and visit all of the often mentioned resorts that are famous for their decorations, and getting bunches of pictures will definitely be the priority! I expect the boys to do quite a bit of commando touring and riding, but DW and I are just going to take it slow and explore all those hidden treasures we seldom get to see while we are there!

I hope you get to catch some of the Santas this trip. That was my big goal last year and, while I missed some of them, the ones I did see were a lot of fun. I loved the Norway one, but my friend thought it was annoying. :confused3

This year (in 2 1/2 weeks!!!!) we will be there when the lights get turned on at the Studios and the Castle so I will get to see the Osborne lights that we didn't get to see last year. The food & wine festival will still be going so there won't be all the Christmas-y stuff and Santas at Epcot.

Loved your front of the monorail pictures. I miss being able to do that.

You were quick! :thumbsup2 After reminding me I was way past due an update so many times, I didn't want to announce it and see how long it took you to find your way over and read! Pretty impressive for an older woman!!! :goodvibes

Marv, I may be OLD, but I am still QUICK! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Very good plans for the first day! I would love to be able to take a stop halfway to Orlando to arrive relaxed - but I guess that would be a very wet night in the middle of the Atlantic! ;)

I really can understand your feelings about not taking the right pictures. I was just looking at the pictures from my first trip to WDW in 2004 which was already with a digital camera and I was so sad that I missed out on so many picture opportunities. :confused3

That's one thing I really, really want to see someday!-CP looks so beautifully done, and the real deal! Love that!!
May learn a hard lesson, but I'm gonna take a chance we can see it without the CP Dining Package. We should be done with our early dinner ADR in plenty of time to get in the standby line. If that doesn't look too promising, I've seen people post they just stood at the railing at the back of the theater and you can still see/experience everything just fine.

I'm sure we probably won't catch all of them, but I hope we do see a few. I need to do some research and see what times they appear. We might be too late the first day to catch any, but we do have a full Epcot day planned later in the trip.

Yes, tragic in many ways! We actually rode up front once on our July 4th trip last summer, just a couple of days before the crash, which made the news even more real when we heard about it!

I think I will avoid adopting that line for future conversations. I'm thinking it might not sound like a good thing..... :rolleyes1

Yes, I can see some definite drawbacks to that plan, getting wet being one of them! :rotfl2:

When the trip became a commando one, it just seemed easier to not always be strapped down to a camera. When I had it, photo ops were more about people instead of surroundings......which is funny because I really hate a lot of "posed" pictures.
i dont have a whole lot of room to talk but an update.
Well that's never stopped you before......;)

Oh look! You checked in to my TR, and mentioned yours - I am embarrassed to say, I haven't even checked in here - yup. Totally missed it. :upsidedow Hope you can forgive me! Consider this my check-in! I'm looking forward to your WDW Holiday pictures!

Hey everyone! Marv asked me to invite you to my non-disney cruise TR, so that I can help entertain you while he is busy - so come on along!

:rotfl:
Hey, look at that! An update! I guess I should check in here more often.
And I should probably give everyone a whole lot more reason to check in! :sad2:
Kind of like Dan's, they are so rare that we should get a siren sound or something that an update has been posted. ;)
Just because your last update was made at a "snail's" pace..... :rolleyes1

:welcome: Tammie!!! Thanks for the bump up! :thumbsup2 Nothing to forgive. And I'm looking forward to my holiday pictures too......or at least getting there to take them! :woohoo:

:rotfl: Oh yes, Kathy, I have long ago recovered from the canoe trip! Unfortunately life has gotten in the way somewhat. The good news is that both Cross Country AND soccer games both come to an end this week. On top of that, it is the end of the first 9 weeks grading for the local schools, so DW has needed the computer at home to post grades and such so she can stay gainfully employed. :yay:

Believe it or not, I have had a few minutes to keep up with most TRs (including yours), but not enough time to comment for the most part. After starting my takeover of Rosie's thread with her departure, I felt an obligation to use my little time there first to try and keep things going (similar to my dedication to yours while you were away):) so she doesn't feel forgotten and unloved when she returns! :rolleyes1 Apparently not as many people on here love her and miss her as much as I do (you are a distant second though). ;) After that, Glenn gets time because his update included a very important contest that I created, but have fallen woefully behind competing in...... :sad2:

A fine job you did on my thread while i was gone Sir and I loved the Long awaited Up date !!!Kidani looks awesome !! When I win the lottery I will stay there !! Could Kathy please buy me a ticket she seems soooo much luckier than me :lmao:

Yeah, where is everyone on Rosie's thread? That first day started out well and it has fallen apart. She'll think we don't love her anymore. They must be having a great time though because she hasn't called me since that first night.

I'm glad that your wife is using the computer for important stuff! And I gave up on Glen's "game" because I never get there quick enough to give an answer (he and that's nice post at some weird hours).

You both did a fine job on my thread !! I will be away again Thursday thru Saturday !! :rolleyes1

Marv, I may be OLD, but I am still QUICK! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am OLDER!!!!!:rotfl2:

Hey, look at that! An update! I guess I should check in here more often.

Me too I didn't realise I hadn't been around !!!!:confused3And I wont be again this week Thursday thru Saturday !!!

Marv you don't need to worry I will be in Albany!!!!

Just checking in to say howdy everyone! It's been a tough couple of weeks, but it's great to back amongst friends. Looks like I'd better toughen up my skin..... ;) (and shave my feet)

:wave2::wave2::wave2: Marv. Just wanted to check in and see if anything was going on over here. :rolleyes1

Since Marv likes to "prop up " our TRs, I am here to give a little payback. Here's a bump for ya! (And it's ONLY a bump!)
