Christmas in July

I have to say that I am disappointed in Host_Hula's skills at hosting games. I always get my DD on VMK right before the host games start. Host_Hula's games ALWAYS start about 10 minutes late. We always get in line and DD disconnects just as she gets in the room. I can understand if a game is new and the host isn't sure how it should go, but there is no excuse for the constant tardiness. Just had to get that off of my chest. She seems like a very nice person, but would it hurt to start on time?
i really don't think it matters what time they open as long as you can get in eventually.. you'll dc in the middle of the line no matter what time it opens ;)

LOL yes that happens too, but this is always a factor with Hula. If she were not 10 minutes late, DD would have played.

Well, at this rate it looks like a lot of people won't get in eventually.

Well, I've been trying for 45 minutes to get into the room and if the prize is just stack of gifts, it's not worth the wait.

My hand and arm hurt from the weekend and I think it is ridicules that they can't open more then one staff room at a time. They have already proven that they can if they want.

i wish i could get in, but i must leave to go out to dinner! - cries -

:furious: Host dc's then others start. Get to front of line and you know what DC. What a joke. Tried for over an hour to get in and then, not even a chance. Oh well another disapointment in VMC. Sometime I wonder why we try.

Just started this game in May, after trip to WDW. Going in December again and hope to get some presents. Will trade slide pieces for presents.

I made it into the room a short while after it opened. After a couple of people did their spins, all hell broke loose. It was total chaos. People were wandering all over the room and not listening to Hula. She was telling them to stay in line and to go step on the tracks to get back in line. Nobody seemed to listen and more and more people were getting out of line and wandering around the room. Hula seemed to be getting very upset. I thought she was going to give up and close the room. That's when qruthie took over.

Qruthie said three things, something like this, "Please listen to Hula. Please sit on the ice. Then step on the tracks to get back in line." AND THEY LISTENED! Within seconds order was restored. I'm not kidding at all. Hula didn't say anything to me but I hope she found my actions to be helpful. I won too but getting the wanderers back in line was more fulfulling than receiving the stack of presents. I'm like this in real life, I have no problems doing things like directing traffic. I was always a good field trip chaperone because I was fun but I also was able to keep my group under control. (Big field trip tip - bring a camera and tell the kids you will take pictures of them making funny faces after if they behave during the trip.) I was just amazed I could do it in a virtual game too.

One other problem that happened with the game is both people who spin were supposed to leave the room after their turn but some were climbing over the ice and getting back in line. I'm guessing that didn't help the long lines and dc problems a bit.

I absolutely agree about them opening a few more rooms. It's really irritating and between not being able to even get into the line (let alone hoping not to dc) for the host game and entering 100+ codes a day for the sparrow outfit to get zip,...well, I'm feeling like this game just isn't worth the headache. My girls can't even get near playing any of the Host games because of the frusteration. They would be in tears.

I was in the queue the second the room opened. In the 40s. 20 some odd minutes later.... entered the room, saw someone on DIS win one stack of presents, saw 3 people dc, and then - whoosh - and the scream you heard was mine.

No Christmas in July for me today.

Hi Peasy, your girls can have the stack of presents I won.

Because they had to add the new slide items from slide-a-thon.

I got signed in to be at the Christmas in July room just as it opened but because it was late in opening, I couldn't get in for 2 hours. I finally got in after the room was closed and there were just 3 of us left. She said the 3 of us each got prizes and asked us to exit. I didn't get anything! I don't know what I was supposed to get but there is nothing Christmasy for me! :guilty:
