Christmas Ideas for DD18

She's already a college freshman this year, so she has most of the dorm stuff she needs. That made Christmas last year a lot easier!!!

I did go to the ABC website and I ordered a long-sleeved T-shirt and a Thermos from the Grey's Anatomy page - I think she'll love those. And thanks for the book and movie ideas, too - I know she's read some of the Shopaholic books, and I didn't know The Devil Wears Prada was coming out in time for Christmas - that's a definite yes!!!

Well, shoot, there goes my great idea! Do they have a coffee shop or some place the kids frequent on campus? You could buy her gift certificates for that place.

You said your DD likes to read, my DS (19) does too.

I found a collectors edition of his favorite set of 5 books about chinese history on ebay. I know he's going to love them, he's had the paperback version for years. He treats all his books like gold LOL
I can't wait until he opens them, they are beautiful!

If you google her favorite things you'll be surprised the treasures you can come up with.

Good Luck

To answer your other question, a group of them used to get together in the dorms during their freshman year and watch Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Family Guy etc.. I'm pretty sure the girls were hosting these movie nights to attract the guys to share some time with them!

Oh I'm jealous she is getting sephora monopoly. I want it so bad but my bf said no because it would be too girly for him to play with me. My only chance is if my mom remembers and orders it. Otherwise I'm out of luck. I can't see spending $45 on monopoly when I already have disney monopoly, regular monopoly and mlb monopoly!

Oh I forgot. I priced the devil wears prada online last night for a gift and the best deal was at Circuit City for $13.99 online. I haven't seen today's ad paper but figured I'd save you some trouble.

I really think you ought to just get it for yourself, M 'n C. The "houses" are Sephora shopping bags, and the "hotels" are Sephora stores. The little playing pieces are adorable - can't remember exactly what they are, but they are precious. I think one is a hair dryer, and one is a lipstick tube. The names of the streets are great - Lipstick Lane, etc.

Thanks, golfgal, for the college dorm stuff ideas!!!! Even though she has some of that stuff, I might go look and see if BB&B has anything new for dorm rooms. And she will be moving into an apartment on campus in another year or two, so I could always get her something to go with that for the next few Christmases.

How about gift cards to places near where she goes to school? Is there some sort of account you could put $ into (at college we had an account that worked as a debit card for laundry, coffee, etc.). Check if there's anything else she needs for her dorm-I know a couple of things on my Xmas list my first year of college was stuff I didn't know I needed-Drying rack? Messenger bag?. Extra cell phone/ipod charger?
