we really want to go for christmas next year, looking at the 22nd -26th/27th. how busy are the parks, and is it super magical? thanks x

Can't answer yet but we are going for Christmas this year! I know it gets SUPER busy over New Year, and we're leaving to avoid this again. I know it will be cold though, but I'd rather have a cold Christmas in DLP than a warm one in WDW ;)
The build up before Christmas is magical though (have done a November trip before) but its weird after Christmas Day (have been over NYE) as there is obviously no Santa meet, and that to me, IS Christmas ;) But I can't wait to spend Christmas Day in Disney :D

very busy and cold.

worst thing that could happen though is melting snow. If you don't have rubber boots (or snow boots) on, you will spend the day with water in your shoes and wet socks, and freezing feet (very miserable and uncomfortable)

pack snow suits (lots of guests wear them), and very warm clothes.

ironically, snow is at the same time the worst, and the best thing that could happen for a christmas trip.

Had good trips in early November (it was dlp christmas) in the past, crowds were not too bad at all

Thanks for the replies, have been previously in freezing cold February's, wet, snow, ice and wind, so we know what to expect weather wise but the parks were quiet. is Santa there in November too? also what were closures like that time of year? having 5 kids, one quite a youngling, queues are not good for us, so maybe November would be better?

hope your trip is amazing Lisa x

yes, Santa is there from the start of Christmas season in November, all the way through until Christmas Eve at DLP.

November is one of my favourite times to go to DLP, usually not severe winter weather that you get in January and February, Christmas themeing all over the resort, and non-existent queues midweek :).

:) sounds like a perfect trip! thanks x

We went for Christmas many moons ago (seems like a lifetime away now!), we found it really quiet from mid afternoon on Christmas Eve (can remember repeatedly riding POTC in a boat on our own :thumbsup2 ) and the same on Christmas Day. Boxing Day was busier and from then on it got busier and busier until our last day (28th) when it was manic.

And yes, it is super magical. We've been lucky to wake up at both DLP and WDW on Christmas morning and DLP wins hands down for Christmas every time.

im looking for next xmas and was going to ask the same question, probably looking at 2nd december, will it be relatively quiet then please
