There have been several posts with ideas about meetups so maybe it's time to settle on some times/places. I'd be happy to orchestrate this unless someone else is so inclined. We can discuss options and exchange ideas but I'd like to go "final" by December 4th (so I can get everything else ready!). All inputs are welcome. So, some options....
Cruise Terminal: We are early arrivers (just can't wait!) and will set up in the area just in front of the large wall-size TV so the kids can watch Disney movies. I will have a Santa hat on

(or at least have it on the extended handle of my carry-on bag) to help find us. I like the ideas others had about wearing something red (wrist bands, hair ribbons, etc) to help find each other initially as well. We can refine this further as desired. This is just very informal and a way to put faces to names for those who arrive prior to boarding time. We've found it a great time for the kids to get to know each other as well (and to keep busy!), so they're already BFFs by the time they hit the lab/club/etc.
On Board - Predeparture: I know there are several options, but I suggest the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3 port side at 3:00pm. It's comfortable, easy to find, out of the weather, has plenty of room, and it's family friendly. The 3pm time generally works out well as it's after lunch and the opening of the staterooms, and it's just before the lifeboat drill and subsequent sail away party. Along with getting to know your fellow travelers, this is the best time to update the FE lists based on upgrades or any other changes. If you're in the FE or Secret Mickey and you can't make this meetup, you will want to contact "Silly Little Pixie" or "Brooklyn", repectively, ahead of time so they can pass on any changes to/from you. This is also a great time to compare dining assignments/rotations and exchange ideas on activities, excursions, etc. Ideas/comments?
Day 1 - Sea Day: We might consider a "tasting" for the adults, or possible just a meetup in the Outlook Cafe which would be much less structured. It's typically pretty cool on deck this day, so it's a good day to do something inside.
- Tastings

(see Post 131 for more info): I've got an email in to
DCL to check on putting together a private tasting just for our group. Or, we can sign up (individually) for one of the scheduled tastings. Typically the Day 1 (Monday) tastings are Wine at 1pm, Beer at 3pm, and Tequila/Margarita at 5pm. The problem with the 5pm tasting is it runs into the Captain's Reception and dinner for the early/main seating diners. I've never understood why they don' t do this one at 4pm?? We could probably do a private tasting at 3pm in the Cadillac Lounge (the 3pm Beer tasting is in Diversions normally). Anyway, please advise if you are interested in a tasting, and if so, what type, and private or group. There are also tastings available on Tuesday (sea day). All other thoughts/ideas are appreciated!
- Outlook Cafe: The recently remodeled Outlook Cafe is a great place to just hang out and relax/talk/whatever. You can just grab a drink on your own as desired, and mingle throughout the room. It's a much better venue for just getting to know people. If we don't have a consensus on a tasting, maybe we can just do a meetup here. We can still coordinate to get together for tastings as mini-groups with like interests as desired.
Other: Any other ideas/suggestions? Usually once we meet people and things get going, we tend to just wing it. Events like joining others on shore excursions or sitting together at a show just seem to come together. Please remember all of this is strictly optional...no pressure at all. Do what you want to do and hang with who you want to hang...it is a vacation after all. We've met a lot of nice people through this experience and gained some great friends. We can't wait to meet all of you.
Lastly, we did a Pre-Meet on Saturday evening before the cruise for those staying at our hotel (we're at the Doubletree as of now), and others met up at DLR on Saturday and/or Sunday as well. Please share other ideas.
