I've just booked for HNY 19-23rd December. We've done DLP several times before but not for a few years and DP has always done the planning. This year I've booked it as a present for DP so he doesn't know we're going yet so I can't ask his help so wise people any advice? It'll be for DP, myself and DS who will be 2 1/2.

Hi GreenDress. We're staying at HNY from 18th - 22nd so will be there at same time as you.

Lots of planning stuff on PTR on the Trip Reports board.

I've never been at Christmas before - our previous trips have been in June so I am really excited about seeing the decorations and lights in the parks and meeting Santa though with Anna & Elsa in the Princess Pavilion I'm not sure who we're more excited about meeting.

What characters is your son into? Will be wonderful seeing it through his eyes.

We've been in for NY but not for quite a few years and not with DS so I'm sure it will be even more magical!
DS loves the traditional characters but also the likes of the toy story characters. He's just going to be super excited at seeing them all!
Like you I love the princesses so I'm sure I'll be in the queue behind you!
I shall go and have a look at the trip reports now!

My advice would be to make reservations for somewhere to sit down and eat at lunchtime in the parks - it's really cold at that time of year and you will welcome somewhere to sit and warm up!

If you buy anything check your receipt as they often give put free hot drink vouchers on them.

Oh and when we took our DS at that age we brought him some thermal vests and long johns which were a life saver! Don't underestimate how cold it might be
