I have been in total denial that Christmas is approaching, but hearing so many people tell me that they have already bought all their presents and made their plans, has made me feel I should get my act together!

What about you?

OMG Shirley - I managed to buy Xmas cards and these are being sent out on 30th November otherwise I'll forget - I have managed to do my address labels for them so it makes it easier - I use these labels for my holiday postcards as well so I always have this list which makes it easier.

I know what I'm gonna get Paul but I don't know how I'm gonna buy it or where I'm gonna store it as it's quite big. I'm gonna pick up some little stocking fillers from Orlando.

I have to get something for Paul's mum, I have no idea and Paul doesn't either :( So she'll probably get nothing.

Gonna do the Xmas tree the weekend I'm back from DISCon and then we are having a Xmas Day dinner for my friends on Sunday 22nd Dec which I'm really excited about - but I haven't planned the dinner yet apart from to say it'll be a marathon one :)

So now I've just read this back to myself and I feel a little more organised than I thought I was :)

It's not long 'til Christmas!!

Every year I swear I won't leave it until the last minute and every year I end up going out on Christmas Eve for a few last minute things

I've decided that I will try and buy some stuff online to say be some stress this year - so far I've bought a couple of DVD's from Play.com (cheaper than the shops and the shipping is included in the price) and this weekend I intend to 'hit' Amazon.co.uk - free shipping on orders of £39 or more at the moment.

Aside from those two things, I've not really given it a lot of thought though...as per usual  So, if anyone knows of any websites doing specials, feel free to let me know!!!

Well, we've been out today and 'broken the back' of most of our stuff.
(The Metro Centre was well busy later on, for them comin up next week, but the Chrimbo Decs are really good this year)
Just got to do the last lot on the Net and odds and ends around Town and we'll be done (Hah! Fat chance  )

Oh god "Us" organised, the thought makes me laugh!!

We are lucky to get the tree up on the 1st,lol,ive not bought a thing,we dont have a clue what to get and who we are buying for, dont even know what to get dd (shes 3).

Yup its our typical xmas,we do it all and last minute LOL,then we winge when something is out of stock etc...hehehe

You've made me feel better Steph :teeth: !

Dave, now you've told us the hotel is next to the Metro Centre and I'm coming with the Shopper Supremo, I can see I'll have to bring my walking shoes  .....or maybe running shoes would be more appropriate to try and keep up with her :teeth:

Well, I'm nearly done! :D A complete first for me. What completely throws me is the fact that it's my Mum's birthday next weekend and then Carys's the last day of November so usually I can't see past those two present buying dates.

This year however with my New York trip just before Christmas Wendy and I made a pact that we would be completely sorted and organised by December 10th - so far so good!

Tree and decs don't usually emerge from the loft till after the first week of December so Carys's cards get a chance to be seen.

As for the cards, hmmm, well they're all bought and the labels are somewhere on the computer from last year ...... guess I should start sorting that out next!!

Phew, reading this through I feel quite organised (well, for now anyway!!).

Shirley - The Hotel isn't right next door - probably a 10/20 mins walk (depending on your walking pace!!) so if you don't cadge a lift or get a cab I'll be on the look out for two pack horses next weekend!!

Here in the states we have a landmark of sorts on which to hang (begin) the "Christmas nutty season." It's called Thanksgiving, which always falls on the last Thursday of the month. The day after Thanksgiving, is referred to as "Black Friday" in retail. On Thanksgiving the newspaper is full of more adverts/inserts than on any other day of the year. Stores have huge sales to draw in customers; many of them open their doors at 6:00 am. It's every man for himself, commando shopping at its worst. Just gazing at the parking lot can give you a migraine.

Me, I don't go near the malls on Black Friday. It's not good for one's health. So until then, I'm going to pretend that Christmas isn't just around the corner and live in happy bliss.

Well Jess and I are 99% done now but then again we have to be ready early this year as we are going to Switzerland over Christmas and New Year. So if we are not done and dusted by the 18th December then we never will be :) I have passed on any presents from Jess this year as the Holiday is more than enough for me...I LOVE Snowboarding so it will be so great.

Anyway...must dash..!!

I headed for Boots at the weekend and used their 3 for 2 offer wisely - got some great bargins. So I'm feeling a little better about myself than last week! I watched 'Jingle All The Way' with the kids over the weekend - a film about a dad looking for the year's most popular toy on Christmas Eve - I'm usually like that! ;)

Because our trip is so soon after Christmas (which doesn't end until the middle of January over here), we're trying to cut back this year (:jester:). I love Christmas just as much as I love Disney - just a big 35 year old kid!!!

Nada! Not a thing. Well I am going to Orlando for Christmas.

I'll send Christmas cards when I buy 'em. Pressies......I'll get them out there.

I'm going Christmas shopping supposedly on Saturday in London....more like shoe and handbag shopping!!!

I think I've made all my Christmas cards now - just got to get down to writing them.

Kids are more or less sorted but no ideas whatsoever for the rest of the family. We've told them we won't tell them what we want until they give us some ideas but not sure that'll work. It get harder each year to think up something original.

I finish work in 2 weeks so the decorations should be up rather swiftly after then!! Much to DH disgust.

Woman after my own heart :)

:D Surprisingly sorted (mostly) this year - but then I think the fact that we bought most of DH's family presents while we were away the last few weeks helped;)

Just need to decided what to get for him . . . completely out of ideas this year:( Problem is we all brought a fair amount back from Florida of things we 'needed' (we did need them, honest;) ).

DD has just completely thrown me by deciding she doesn't want what she's been saying she wants for the last six months . . . eeeeek.

Still, there's loads more shopping days left and the Disney Store in Calais this last weekend was very helpful:p :p

You think that will stop her ??

I'm sure I can arrange to take you over there.... :D There's a paper shop I think we need to visit Janice ;)

I haven't even started, it was Katie's birthday last week, and I don't ever think about Christmas until after that. I am starting to panic a little now, I think I need to spend a serious afternoon on the internet buying things.
