Ok - we think we are going to WDW in December - we have ressies at the Poly conc. I am thinking about buying Christmas hats and having them in our room before we get there. We are a family of 5 and I am wondering if there are 5 different hats available?

I know we have purchased a Santa Hat with Mickey ears - what else is available?

Where would I buy them ahead of time?

Thanks for any info!

WDW certainly has a wide variety of Christmas hats available for the holiday season. But, even with the 15-20 varieties that we saw last year, I still liked the ones we brought from home best.

We found a great deal on the cutest baseball style hats at Target...about $4 each, if memory serves. The hats were red and green, but had the words Merry ChrisMoose written on them. The hats also had soft brown moose antlers on them. So, we decided to have them personalized a little and took them to the hat store in our local mall. We had Rutt put on the back of one and Tuke put on the back of the other...another $4/hat.

The CM's got a huge kick out of our hats as did many other people all over WDW. I can't even tell you how many times we were asked about our hats. Quite a few people really were disappointed that they were not for sale at WDW.

The best part was when we had the chance to do Meet & Greets with Kenai and Koda. The CM's thought the hats were perfect often announcing to Kenai and Koda that the Moose had arrived. lol

I guess what I want to let you know is that the hat doesn't have to be a high dollar Disney holiday hat to still be fun at WDW. I still have our $8 customized hats and I can't wait to use them again at WDW....hopefully next year. Maggie

and some were already sold out. There is Tiger, Pooh, Minnie (sold out), Mickey, I think there was Goofy & Pluto too if I'm not mistaken. Also, there was this hat that looked like a big decorated but soft Christmas Tree. I made the mistake of not getting them right when we got there & as the week progressed, it seemed like so much money to spend for the remaining time. I think the best bet is the hat shop on Main STreet in MK. Maybe you could call there & order them. They are soooo fun!!!

I was actually thinking of doing the exact same thing. When I called about a change to our reservation, I asked to be connected to the Disney days of Christmas store. The lady there said it was still a little early but the above poster was right about the types of hats. They are (I believe) around $14 for the characters and more ($24?) for the tree hat (it lights up). She said they could all be personalized except for the tree. She said to check back around october. I also saw just the Tigger one at mainstreetmegamall.com. Good luck!

Thanks - I know the Mickey one has ears.... I would imagine the Tigger one is very similar....

So what do the others look like? We all kinda have characters we like the best or that best represent us.

DS 16 - always has been a GOOFY fan
DS 13 - always been a PLUTO (he is dyslexic and grew up calling him TUPO)
DS 10 - TIGGER all the way
DH (over 40) - EEYORE all the way

ME - I am really a TIGGER fan, but since I am the only girl- I could go for a Minnie if there is one.....

Would there be hats in each of those categories? Christmas ones? I might just get the boys hats, though - or get me a headband.

The Tigger Hats are green with tigger ears where the mickey ears are on the Mickey version. The orange and green isn't quite as Christmasy, but you'll see loads of them on folks in the parks.

And we watched them sell out pretty quickly on our last trip. By the 20th, there weren't any left anywhere. We had folks calling from store to store trying to locate them.

This year I'm buying the minute we get there.

there is an eeyore headband with him as a reindeer and the xmas lights light up

Last year during the first week of october we saw the light-up christmas tree hats being worn by people at MNSSHP. Wish I would have gotten one then!

I ordered 10 Minnie Mouse santa headbands from www.disneydeals.com I think it ran me about 25.00 with shipping! There are girls on this trip (me, MIL and my 2 DDs) And my DDs will give them to their 4 girl cousins and one best friend when we get home. Mine was a lot of 10 and a great savigs but you might find something on disneydeals -- if not I would call Disney merchandising to order them directly or get them when you get to the parks (depending on how late in Dec you are going).

Hope that helps!
