I hope someday that I get to see the 4th of July parade! And I just found out that guests do a Halloween cart parade.

Is there one for the holidays? We'll be there from 12/6 to 12/19, and if people do one, I'd love to be in it or see it!

I've never seen one, but its a great thing to drop in the old suggestion box. Wonder it Disney would get upset if you printed a bunch of flyers and invited folks to a non-Disney sponsored parade? :confused3

I am betting that the way folks decorate their sites and golf carts as it is that it would be a fantastic event! Can you imagine a night time Christmas Eve event? I bet once a successful parade goes off that the Fort would make it official for the future.

That would be fantastic! I pictured doing a Santa's sleigh theme. You could get a bunch of carts to do a reindeer costume (I use one for my cart in Dec) and then have another with Santa in his sleigh.

Is the Halloween parade an official one with Disney?

The Halloween and 4th of July golf cart parades are official events organized by the campground. Participants are supposed to register by a certain date and time at the Bike Barn, and are issued numbers. The contestants are judged by campground employees, and prizes are awarded.

I have never heard of a Christmas golf cart parade. But I have never been to the Fort on Christmas, either. I thought I heard that there was an official campsite decorating contest for Christmas last year, but I'm not even sure of that.

We were in a parade last Christmas. I'm not sure of the date, but it seems like it was right at Christmas, associated with the site decoration contest. It was around dusk, and finished near the meadows movie site after dark for awarding of prizes. Same registration/ number assignments as noted above.

That sounds fantastic! I have seen people with signs saying they've won the site decoration contest. Last year, friends and I gave a tour around Fort Wilderness and the site decorations for MouseFest. It was the first time that a lot of our friends saw the resort at all, let alone the decorations. They came away with a lot of respect and understanding for why we love it so much!
